Jimmy was still drafting HOFers after taking break and then taking HC position with Fins.

It was not luck or familiarity that enabled Jimmy to identify AND develop players, it was talent.

And Jimmy was able to find players everywhere he went.

There is a reason that the GOAT head coach in NFL history, Bill Belichick, still picks Jimmy's brain and considers him a mentor on all things football.
Absolutely correct. Jimmy Johnson would have replaced Charles Haley with Jason Taylor, Ken Norton with Zach Thomas, Kevin Smith and Larry Brown with Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain.

The man could reload a defense in one draft. His last Dallas Cowboys draft gave you a starting OLB in Darrin Smith, and KR/Slot WR in Kevin Williams both upgrades over Vinson Smith and Kelvin Martin.

If Jerry Dumbo GM Jones would have just waited for Jimmy to end his run naturally, the Cowboys would have been the team of the 90's and 2000's.
