What would it look like for a complete demolition and total rebuild?

I loved 1989. Because it was blatantly obvious that brighter days were a'comin'!!!

Losing only bothers me when it's not leading to better days.
No you did not love '89, you didnt know if they were going to turn it around....nobody knew, there were big questions and red flags about jimmy in that 1-15 season. yea hindsight now about that year.....what does hindsight tell you now after 30 years?

Yes, I did. I did know good times were coming. I was ecstatic at the Walker trade. That was on OCT 12, 1989.

No hindsight involved here. You really shouldn't accuse that w/o gathering info, dude. If you can't see something like that coming, you simply had a blindness to it.

I feel like it would be easier for most of you "fans" to just go pick a new team.

Why be in such misery that year after year you root for the team to give up or tank?

Telling people to pick a new team just because you don't like how they choose to embrace their fanhood is just weak sauce.

I didnt tell people to pick a new team. I said it might br a better option.

Weak sauce is not liking your team

Just because someone believes their team should tear it down and start over does not mean they don't like their team. You're really not good at this evaluation thingie, hey?

Weak sauce is not wanting your team to get into super bowl contention. Sometimes tearing it down is how you do it.

Tag and Trade Pickens
Trade Dak
Trade Lamb
See if we can get something for Osa

No one else really worth much to trade; would look at offers for Clark and Q
There are plenty of tradeable players besides the ones you mentioned.

You the blind one, Im not accusing anyone.....other than just plain hope, noone knew what was to unfold in those coming years......after 30 years, its nothing else but hindsight....

They have a good shot at having a winning season next year. The Patriots were a losing team last year.
Many fans do not want to think it can happen. Doom & Gloom is all the see, and some want that.

This team does not need a complete rebuild. They can build upon the offense they have. Start by keeping Pickens and Williams.
Yes possibly find a replacement for Steele. But was he really as bad as fans say. Probably not.

Defense yes, needs a rebuild and they started doing that. Changing the DC and now other defensive coaches will be a huge help with some of the current players.
I do not think they need as many players as some believe. They just need a few right players at some key positions.
Possibly 1 DE, 1 LB, 1 S, 1 CB.
The other players are good enough to improve with better surrounding talent and of course a better scheme.
Depth is and always have been an issue. But can't fix it all at once, unless you get lucky.

Here is my two cents worth (I know it should be more with inflation but I am a traditionalist)

Release Steele
Clean out the Safety room and keep Revel and maybe Bland in the CB room
D line let Sam Williams go

Do not resign Davonte Williams

That is where I would start

work at getting as many picks for next years draft as it looks much more valuable

and find a QB that can really dodge a pass rush
Nah, the rebuild just has to come on defense.

I'd tag and trade Pickens. We don't need two #1 receivers. Consider using the pick you would get for a replacement WR. Flournoy is ready to be a #2. Replace Steele with a better T. Resign Williams or look for another cheap free agent to take his place.

Use the rest of the draft capital on defense and add a couple of impact free agents.

It is strange. They could hit on the new players they add. We don't know if they will hit are not, but it is possible that they will hit. The new young defensive coordinator will make some good recommendations that he can communicate with. I like the new young blood they are adding to the coaching staff. It beats the middle aged men they have had in the past.

Yes, we did. It was blatantly obvious.

It's funny blaming someone for hindsight just because you were unable to see it.

Same reason Cards fans don't.

Same reason Raiders fans don't.

If it were that easy I'm sure a few of us would have done it by now.

And keep the same 83 year old GM to oversee it all. Brilliant.
