Fix the trenches on both sides of the football. I did mention the Bucs Front 7 several weeks ago as the blueprint. Yesterdays win was not about Tom Brady, it was their four 4 getting consistent pressure, where the Packers just couldn't run the football.
running the ball is not a specialty with the Packers, they run as an extension of the Rodgers passing game. they schemed to take away the deep shots and vertical chunk plays and force
Rodgers to take sacks or switch to the underneath throws.
and that was with killer turnover takeaways between both Aaron's (jones and Rodgers) ….
Turnovers are gonna huge key in this coming Super Bowl.
You mentioned the front seven vs the run, but I saw more of that pass rush on Rodgers (ala Pierce, Barrett) .. and LBs (ala devin white) and DBs (ala whitehead) that forces turnovers...
This. Fans hibernate another 10 years and perhaps....Jerry and Stephen to leave the premises
False..
Avg QBs can win with great teams around them.
Trade dak go trade for Rogers and put effort into defense in the offseason..doneQuestion of the Day: What would it take for Dallas Cowboys to also be Super Bowl Contenders too ?
Its not about KC Chiefs - as they have a phenomenal QB in Mahomes and an HOF head coach but look at how they build that team around those two to challenge being a dynasty for years to come.
- Look at the Bucs, who were going thru the Jamis Winston overall No.1 pick and years of mediocrity
but look how that management went out and got the HC, the aging GOAT, they already had skillful WRs
and TEs but they built a champioship contending defense and an OL around Brady
- Look at Buffalo who have been hideous and one of the losing organizations for decades since the Jim Kelly days ..but look how over the years they have build a SB contending team around a HC, QB and other
elements on both sides of the ball ... only KC Chiefs stood in their path to play in SB ..
- And you know GB contended this year with a 2nd year HC ....there's always some questions about their defense rising to play championship defense - but at least they are in the NFC title game
And then where...how close or how far are we the Dallas Cowboys from finally contending for NFC title games and our very own legit SB runs .....
1) A top 5 QB (I think we have this)
2) An aggressive DEF that can show different looks (We don't have this and can't see this happening anytime soon)
3) A Bill Parcells type coach to rebuild the 53 and create a more intense mentality around the building
4) Better Scouting of free agents
5) Someone to work alongside the front office who can advise Jerry who has actually build a winning team before.
Green Bay is actually more of a run first team these days under their new HC. They were very successful against the Rams the prior week in which they tried to play more coverage. TB not only did they contain their ground attack, but was able to generate consistent pressure with just their front 4. Rodgers had to throw against extra men in coverage, where their OL just couldn't hold up.
Sign Dak and build the Defense through the draft, add one (1) stud FA instead of a bunch of loser has-been's on Defense. Do that and I think the team will contend for years.
All they've done, the jones, is build a country club for these players so their opponents can label them as soft. What a joke!A change in ownership.
Dak's not a difference maker and just assuming we draft the defense you dream of they are still rookies and it will take time to develop them. So having an elite defense is years away.
If your QB is only good then you better have a great team.
It’s hard to build a great team with a good QB making great QB money.
LOL.. There's really no point discussing football with you. You do realize there is NO ONE in the whole league that shares your opinion about Dak. There is a reason EVERY single talking head says Dak is the #1 Free Agent. You don't get that ranking by being "not a diffrence maker". GTHOH....
Just nothing flukey to happen.
teams don't game plan for Packers run game. in fact they are still pretty much committee as they don't like Jones to take on too many touches; he's not a big load back
and he has to be paced. and it's a difference between Laffuer liking to add a run game and more balance but everyone knows their bread and butter and what
opposing team still fear and game plan most is the Rodgers' passing game.
and BTW, the Packers were a lot smarter and creative in their designed run game than what I continue to see under Kellen Moore.
At least Packers will employ some sweeps and pitch outs to the edge than keeping trying to run it up the gut like Kellen keeps trying to do to a fail.
