What Would It Take For Prescott To Pass Romo On The All Time Dallas QB List?

Since I'm a old head my top Dallas QB list is. 1. Aikman 2. Staubach 3. White 4. Romo 5. Dak
Here are the career stats:

Tony: YDS: 34,183 10 Seasons as starter. I don't count 1st or last year
TD: 248
INT: 117
Rating: 97

DAK: YDS: 25,086 7 Seasons as Starter
TD: 166
INT: 65
Rating: 97

If Dak stays at this pace for 3 more years, he'll surpass Romo in the stats department. To me a NFC championship game will put him over.

It’s a Super Bowl only. Romo is a way better QB. Stats don’t tell everything. Romo never had a team/teams like Dak has had. He played behind horrible O-lines. Didn’t have the overall talent at WR or the running game. And didn’t have the D.

Romo vs Dak is meaningless. Two average QB's. Romo didn't need a better team, he needed to be taller with longer arms. Romo had trouble seeing over the LOS.

For a franchise like Dallas, it is not about stats

If Dak leads us to a SB win he will be above Romo. Otherwise Romo will always be regarded as better since is the better ‘thrower’ of the ball and that is job 1 for a QB

Oh, I don’t know. Dak will not get credit from some.

This is what will be posted.

Tony did not have a defense.
Tony had Garrett for a coach
Dak did not win, the team won.

Maybe we should allow Dak to actually SHOW us before we make up these fake stories.

Romo had a RB that had the best season a Dallas RB ever had. Ever. He also had HOFers to throw to and he had ample defenses.
Romo would have killed for a handful of "do overs" in his career.
Now do Dak.

I'll take Danny White, Craig Morton, and Don Meredith before Romo/Dak. At least those QB's got us playoff success ... Romo/Dak = nothing.

Romo wins 4 to 5 Super Bowls with Troy's teams.

Troy is maimed and retired in 6-7 years with Romo's teams.

This sounds more like your personal preferences than a pecking order of QB’s in Cowboy history.

Anyone who doesn’t have Meredith in their list is misguided .
True
Since based on yards Tony is first and Dak 3rd

You do realize Romo was a choke artist who couldn’t win the big games?
It's better to go down swinging even though you throw an INT than to curl up in the fetal position and accept your beating like the current QB who won't throw the ball when the coverage is a little sticky.

The Cowboys during Romo’s tenure kept losing boat races in the key tilts because the Dallas defense couldn’t get a contending offense off the field. Slow death.

Show the tapes that support your analysis. Let's see those open receivers that Dak has missed while supposedly locked on to his primary target.
Show the tapes? What, are you saying you haven’t noticed Dak glued to his primary target over these last years? (Although, I gotta say, he’s done a good job of going through his progressions against the Jets today.)

SMH. Better late than never noticing Dak's improved play and progressions performance while passing.

We don't need to. They have already been posted in the past, or similar posts.
You responded to someone talking about winning NFC championship game

We haven't done that with Dak yet. So your imagined scenario hasn't happened yet either.

How many times did we make Romo go back out to try to get the lead. So he can't do it every single time and some of these guys sticking with Choker label.

well Meredith beat LeBarons records, Staubach beat Merediths records, White beat Staubachs numbers, Aikman beat Whites numbers, Romo beat Aikmans numbers and Dak will beat Romos numbers. Thats the pattern of most teams and most sports. Ive been watching sports many decades. This is mostly due to rule changes, focus changes and adding games to the schedule, plus conditioning and training. Basically Dak has to win an NFC championship. The career totals dont really matter.

If you have Aikman over Staubach then you didn't watch Staubach IMO.

Which just goes to show that this is about opinion and it won't matter what happens.

I have Dak slightly over Romo now. Largely because he is just hitting his prime and his pace is well ahead of Romo. Higher QBR, yards passing per game, Win %.
But it will take titles to ever unseat Aikman and IDK if anyone can ever unseat Staubach because he won the first titles.
Had Romo outplayed Eli Manning in the playoffs the way he did in the regular season we'd all view him differently! And they'd be reversed in the Hall of Fame.

What ever you need to tell yourself to continue to dislike Dallas.
