Actually win more than one playoff game.

Because no matter how good the regular season goes, my expectation is that they will be frustratingly inept in the postseason and get bounced early like they always do.
Yea, a deeper run is ultimately the goal and objective to finally rid the monkey off our back.

But in a season which most thought was more of a retooling season after so many Cap moves which brought so many concerns heading into this season, isn’t just making playoffs a success?

And now that we look destined for making the playoffs as potentially a WC which potentially means all games on the road we’ll most likely be underdogs against higher seeds , I’m not sure why we’d expect to win while it’s possible we could play a division winner with worse record.

While I agree with your premise that at some point we need some success and deeper run in playoffs , I’m not sure we should be expected to do it as a WC on the road.

The NFC does look more getable this year and maybe doing it as an underdog suits us better than as a favorite. We shall see. But I’m not sure we should expect it.

Solid beatdown of the Packers and Vikings on the road would go a long way. In the post season advancing past the divisional round. But more importantly in the post season we play well. We play like we're ready for the moment.

One thing that has helped me start to believe is Micah's play and emotional impact on the team. One of the sequences that defines this season is playing Detroit and Micah hustling and stopping the TE at the one. Then the next play happens and DLaw forces the fumble. Parsons alpha dawg mentality has rubbed off on the whole defense and team. These are not the Hot Boyz defense of flying around and doing nothing. Micah has implanted his personality and mentality on the whole team ala Aikman and Irvin from the glory days. Micah's energy is contagious and everyone is catching it. That makes me believe.

throw in the spark pollard gives in the running game, Turpin in returns , and more kicking consistency by Maher , those plus a very good D , improving O line and hopefully a Dak that takes advantage of having all those pieces in place to ease some of everything being on him

he threw three interceptions. he had only 181 passing yards, which is very pedestrain. the offense scored only 17 points. let me repeat. the offense only scored 17 points. let me repeat, the offense only scored 17 points. the only time we had a decent offensive output is when we ran the ball.

cooper rush cost us that game. if he could challenge that defense more than 15 yards down field (limit of his arm strength), then we would have had a legit shot of winning.

and its extremely funny. Dak gets the team to within three, its called garbage time. Rush does the same thing, (people screaming like little Jr. high girls in high pitched voice), OMG, OMG rush had us within three.

go put your pink tutu on
So, what about Dak's first game of the season vs the Buccaneers?
And if you watch the games, there's a totally different game going on when Dak loses by three. He usually doesn't move the ball during the first two and a half quarters. Then, when the opposing team knows they have the game won and play loose on defense, Dak racks up big stats and makes it look like the game was close, but it really wasn't.
This game was different.
Rush moved the ball during the whole game. He got one drive ended because of a crooked referee who purposely cheated the Cowboys out of a first down- and McCarthy refused to challenge it.
Why do you think the Cowboys are searching for a receiver? Rush threw two interceptions that shouldn't have been interceptions, but CeeDee and Gallup were simply swatted aside on one of those, and the other ran a lazy in pattern that allowed the defender to undercut him. Both passes were accurate and should have been completions. The Cowboys coaches know this.
Both had dropped passes in previous games that hit them in the chest and Rush had to overcome them.
You only want to see what fits your narrative. Try watching the game.

so you want to focus on that one game? or the body of work comparatively?

such a chicken shiet response from a Dak hater...lets focus on the one game of my choice only.
so lets focus on the Chicago game? can we choose that? we scored 49 points in that game, more than two of Rush's games combined.

and again, answer the question, why is Rush praised for bringing a team to within 3 point, but Dak does the same and you call it garbage time?

now, in your haste to defend Rush, a guy who sucks. a guy who was cut 3 times. including in 2022, when 31 other teams, coaches including bilicheck and reid didn't take a flyer on him to have him on the team as back up, then resigned by the cowboys you have not thrown McCarthy and everybody else under the bus....again you throw everyone under the bus to defend Rush. and then you wonder why people think you are an alcoholic idiot. in your haste you are talking about 2 passes dropped and if they recievers don't drop it, then Rush looks better (better not good), yet when anybody else brings the same point with Dak, you call it an excuse.

I think its you who should watch the game, without beer bottle glasses.

6-2 at the bye. 5 of those games with a backup quarterback. 9 games left in the season. 26 years of frustration playing into your beliefs.

What would it take for you to drop the caution flag and allow yourself to hope that this is the year? Beating Green Bay at Lambeau? Following that up with a win in Minnesota? Making that 5 wins in a row by beating the G-Men on Thanksgiving? Or maybe you are hardcore and need to see a victory in the playoffs or maybe 2?

I, myself, need them to beat GB and Minnesota on the road with the offense throwing up 30+ points in those wins. I believe if the offense can score 30 points against those teams in their stadiums then we have the complete team it would require to go to the promised land. Another win on Thanksgiving with the ensuing 10 days off to get healthy would be the final nail. Good offense, great defense and good special teams is a recipe for a championship.

What do you need to see to drop the yellow flag?
going 2-1 or 3-0 out of the bye , then im SOLD!

I believe this team is the best chance at breaking the curse that we have had around here in a long time. If they truly are that is yet to be seen.

Everyone needs to lighten up and enjoy the season. We have a great squad with more than a punchers chance of making a run and you never know how many more years of Dallas Cowboys football you are going to be lucky enough to watch. :star:

It will take a lot to get me to believe in the Cowboys again. They can start by beating the teams on one gives them a chance to beat, and I don't mean barely squeaking by, but actually beating the teams where there was no doubt. Once they start doing that, I might start having hope for the future.

These next 2 weeks. Handle our business in Green Bay and beat Minnesota and I’ll start to believe we got a chance. Plus show we got a plan to slow the run…

Win the divisional round of the playoffs.

At this point, after 26 seasons, they are going to have to show me.

Key word is they and this team has to do with this season and not the previous 26.

1. Maintained health of key players
2. Emergence of Damone Clark and continued improvement by rookie class
3. FO humbling themselves and giving Pollard more snaps
4. Tyron Smith and James Wash coming in and playing well
5. Keep Minnesota and Philly games close

There’s always a possibility . But I’d like to hear the detailed argument how “ we have a good shot” being 2 games behind. Something beyond I believe it will happen.
