What would you do different if you ran the offense?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record...I am not impressed with Garrett at all. I just have not been impressed with his play calling. I think we score so many points because our talent is so immense. That goes back to last year as well. When Sparano was running the show under conservative Bill we scored crazy points too.... That's not to say he can't get better, but if we yokels can figure out the following things, why can't he?

1) Motion TO into the slot area and run drags (i.e. west coast TO)
2) Run quick slants between TO and Romo
3) Quit running TO on outs and comeback routes, that doesn't play to his strengths at all, he should catch the ball either parallel to the line or going forward
4) Let's run some tosses and traps instead of this delayed draw every play, its way too easy to read.
5) Felix Jones? Isn't running back supposed to be the easiest position to transition in the NFL? If he sucks at blitz pick up then don't run him out there in 3-wides or use his speed to destroy the blitz in the flats
6) Crayton in the slot more, that's his area

Those are my thoughts. Am I thinking this is too simple or are these decent ideas?

What would you do if you had the controls?

Throw it to the RB's in the flats more. Especially Felix.

Teams are doubling Owens and he is running everyone off.

A simple dump off to an electric player such as Felix could result in a big play.

Emmitt used to kill teams that way too.

Stick to the run. The pass is a luxury. The other team can't score if they don't have the ball.

I'd put Felix and MBIII on the field together more often.

The threat either poses and the attention they garner dwarfs the mediocre blocking of Anderson or Curtis. I honestly don't know why we use a below-average player like Curtis so often.

Screens to Felix and Barber ....

They are both tailor made for screen plays in two different ways.

1. Run a few QB draws.
2. Run wide more.
3. Have a back throw a pass just so teams have to gameplan for it (and he might complete it).
4. Kick they linemen in the butt or bench 'em.
5. More motion and TO in the slot.
6. slants

Where's the screen?...I'd mix that up more than has been done, both with TEs and RBs....Felix Jones is a screen delight nevermind how tough it would be to bring Barber down in the open field.

Bill Parcells, is that you? :D

He would be the one to -- with Owens, Witten and Williams split wide -- run the ball all game and play keep away lol.

My biggest beef is the lack of creativity with Felix. This is the biggest thing that scares me about Garrett (not his propensity to give up on the run). All he talked about was the weapon he is and how he can move him around in space. Yet he never does it.

I'm not the hugest Sean Payton homer, but if he were here, I bet we'd be seeing Bus...I mean Felix, used in all sorts of creative ways.

I used to feel that way but the league is a passing league with the rules mostly favoring the offense.

With Romo, TO, Witten, and RWR they need to play vertically as much as they can. I agree with you.

WR screen early to TO . Get him involved and let Romo settle down a little with some completions . TO is great at that play and always picks up 5 or 6 .
