Those are previous deals.

If ur a Top 7 WR which CD is, and you sign a NEW deal, you will be the highest paid WR in the league. Then the next Top 7 WR that signs the NEXT deal, will be the highest paid...and so on, and so on. It's just the way it works, and why salaries are ever increasing.

If Hill is making 30 a year, CD's agent will insist on 35 a year, and they'll settle in the middlebat 32 or 33 a year.

A good GM could work around this....but our geriatric self urinating "GM" will let CD, Micah and Dak's contracts lock the team in cement, and we will have 3 highly paid players and 45 scrubs. His abacus accounting system won't allow for creativity

See what happened earlier in the year when he was barely targeted
Yep.. he was getting criticized and he basically said throw me the ball. MM made a concerted effort to target him after the bye. He was lining him up everywhere and putting him in a lot more motion. He was running a lot of basic routes too allowing him to make plays with his legs.

Why did it have to take that to happen that way to get him the ball

Cowboys met with Dan Quinn and the defense during the bye week to ask them what plays were hard at defending.

They basically employed a lot of motion and the OL got consistent at the buy.

I would argue teams that were watching tape after the bye, were caught off guard, but by the end of the year, they saw what was going on, the Bills onward, and the Packers game happened.

It doesn’t go up by 5M a year every time a new WR signs a deal. 35M a year lolol. It won’t even get to 32-33..

Depends what worth you are referring to. Unless this organization makes tremendous changes (which they aren't), he's wasting his time here so it would be best for both parties to work a trade. In that case, we need to get a top 10 pick plus a second.

If he's going to stay here & rack up empty stats against weak opponents, we can sign a guy for 20% to do that.

If he goes elsewhere, he'll be near the top of the pay scale & might actually make it a good investment for the team paying.

Hill got paid in 2022 though. In 2022 the cap was $208M. 2024 It'll be $255M. Given that jump it's not crazy at all to think Lamb could get around $35M. Issue for Lamb in comparing his should be deal to Hill is that Hill's deal is pretty back loaded, however Lamb may also have a really good argument being younger than Hill when he signed.
