I didn’t think the backup offensive linemen performed that badly. Certainly not enough to be the reason why this team lost.

Even Edoga - and I’ve been an outspoken critic - was acceptable at left tackle. And I don’t think people can still question why they kept Brock Hoffman.

LVE is bad. He looks slow, out of position too often, and lacking instincts. I don’t know what’s happened to him since his rookie year.

My biggest issue aside from the overall defensive performance is with the quarterback.

On a day where he and the offense needed to carry the team, he failed.

what sucks is after his neck injury he got slow and hesitant, looked like he turned the corner last season, but unless hes sandbagging to start this year, he looks no better than anthony barr

Our weakness rest and lies with Prescott, other teams with great QBs are able to overcome injuries and weaknesses. He is a statue back there and if teams get pressure on him he can’t improvise. He was the second best QB on the field yesterday.

If we stumble to 2-2 and then head to SF. Is 2-3 Alarm time? Just saying..

I’d argue this is a HUGE game early now . It shouldn’t have been but it is now .

Greg I understand what you’re saying about the pats game being big. But I would argue every game is big. One of the reasons we’re 2-1 is the team seemed to not think yesterday was a “big” game. There are zero layups in this league. I realize fans never seem to understand that. But the players? They should know that by now.

When the pre-season with all its hype and predictions ended, we as fans and the Cowboys sports media all pointed out the many strengths of this team coupled with the areas of the team where we are vulnerable. This is a very talented football team. But, like all NFL teams, it does have problems.

In my view the three biggest vulnerabilities and question marks about this team showed up yesterday:

1. The OL depth is a concern- we all knew go into the season that Tyron Smith is a ticking time bomb for an injury. Then Tyler Biadz went down and Zack Martin too. Suddenly having 3 backup lineman for one game was a problem. Edoga looked awful at LT. Apparently Tyler Smith’s ham is still too tender to allow him to play LT. We all have loved TJ Bass and his UFA story. But he’s still very raw with a lot to learn.
2. The inability to stop the run has dogged this team for years- are we back to this being a problem? This team gave up 185 yards in the first half! And our LBs looked out position or easily blocked by the cards most of the day. I don’t think we’re as bad against the run as we saw yesterday but it has been a problem for so long, it does make you wonder.
3. This team has been mentally soft for most of the last 27 years, regardless of coaches. For far too long, the Cowboys have been soft. Especially mentally. Adversity strikes and this team stumbles. Not 100% of the time of course, but far too often.

It’s a long season and we still have 14 games left. No need to push any panic buttons. But the above problems are not a surprise. This team’s ability to improve in those areas will say a lot about our chances of post season success.

Yeah I vastly underestimated how bad the LBer situation was. That and the secondary just gave up and looked lost. Mind you this is not a top team in the Cardinals. I was so over invested in the defense bailing out the season, it was not real in any way. Without Micah this defense is below average. Oh and I expected the offense to be ineffective, that was my belief before training camp.

The difference is the Chiefs can recover. They've done it in the past and they will do it again this season. Over here in big D there is zero confidence MM can motivate the team enough to put yesterday in the rear view. Not only that, this team lacks the mental fortitude, passion, and toughness to do it. They are a reflection of their drunken, nose picking owner.

When the same things happen every year and nothing ever changes why act surprised. This team is very predictable by now. Jerry builds the same thing every year then puts his "stars" on a pedestal. It is a self fulfilling prophecy. What you have to understand is players like Dak, Diggs, D Flaw, Martin, Tyron, etc. have already accomplished their goals for the season. A giant bag of cash and coasting is their MO. Definitely feel bad for Parsons, Lamb and a few others. Guys who seem to care about the game itself. Feels like the infection is spreading as well. Jayron does not look like the same guy. As a star player for the Dallas Cowboys it is OK to coast along. Jerry will allow it and the "stars" in the locker room will also allow it.

Yes, each game is big. But sometimes certain games become bigger because of previous games , performances or situations.

I’d argue the Pats game wouldn’t have been as big if we won yesterday. Possibly at 3-0 a game we could have afforded to lose .

But the prospect of falling 2-2 before heading to SF becomes bigger than it should have been . Which makes it arguably our biggest game early in this season until the following week . That’s life in the NFL.

For having most of the Oline out, I thought they did decent enough to win the game. This redzone struggling and the defense, on my the defense, is what really did us in. They gashed us bad with the runs.

When is someone going to corner Dak on his ability to play while under pressure. He ALWAYS chokes. Sure pressure can cause mistakes but we see QBs under pressure every weekend that find a way to complete passes and churn out first downs.

Why is our opponents always get the Team X record is not indicatived of who they are as a team, but ours seems to always be the polar opposite inany fans minds?

The term "Any given Sunday" applies to all 32 teams, however, teams like the Cowboys don't seem to get it. This speaks to an organizational culture that is not 100% dialed in to winning football games. Welcome to the Star.
