I miss those cheesy one dimensional helmets from the early eighties when they'd show scores from around the league on the CBS post game show. And it was always great when the 4pm game ended and they would take you to the last couple minutes of a close game. It always felt like Christmas when that live look in was a Cowboys game.
And they had an actual board with slots to change the score and teams. And who was that other, younger female on CBS? She was Hawwwwwwt.....:omg:

for example I really miss bermans fastest three Minutes. I fondly remember watching the highlights with the epic music and the drama they'd build(Bc back then you really don't know all the results already)with the "tiiick tick- tick- tick - tick- tick -tick

And the old fox graphic and music with summeral and maddens voices is just football to me
And of course this one...got to love the excitable outbursts in calling the highlights...

NFL Primetime with Chris Berman and Tom Jackson.

This was as fun as watching the games itself.

They knew how to throw in the perfect amount of highlights to tell the story of the game, Berman was sharp and didn't have an over-inflated ego. It wasn't about fanboys and misleading journalism. It was a celebration of the game and the focus was the game. Berman became a star because he got the rub from the show instead of Berman (or any announcer) trying to get themselves over at the expense of the show.

I still remember all of the songs they played as well.

YR
Yep. Was the best thing ESPN has ever put on TV

Most of what I miss has already been mentioned but I also miss the days when the players looked more natural even if they were slightly fatter and slower. Most people prefer the opposite, though, unless it's baseball.

I miss the days when you could actually hit the ball carrier before saying , "may I".

only a matter of time before "Cry Rooms" are installed in stadiums.

yet the irony is, it is the old guys from the good ole days who sued because they were hit and the teams didn't care if they were dazed

I liked the Dennis Hopper "crazy ref" commercials.

Also loved the Emmitt commercial where he points at the OL and says "these are my horses", would love to see a 2016 redux with Zeke and our OL.

The NFL Today open and the crew - Musburger, Cross, Phyllis George and Jimmy The Greek.

Monday Night Football with Frank, Howard and Dandy. Howard's halftime highlights.

Summerall and Brookshier, then Madden.

Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen. Bryant Gumbel doing halftime on NBC.

This.
