I'll add NFL film highlights on inside the NFL back in the day when they did it correctly. Long indepth highlights narrated by Harry Kalas. (2nd best ever voice for NFL)

I miss the commercial where the football player gets clobbered. While laying down on the field, his training staff asks him to say his name. He sits up and responds with "I'm Batman!!!!"

Those where Nike commercials played by Dennis Hopper

OK old heads. Who remembers before ESPN the only way to see Sunday's football game highlights before MNF was to stay up (11:30 p.m. on the east coast) to watch the "George Michaels Sports Machine".

I couldn't wait to see the Cowboys highlights.

I have never figured out who was cooler, Crazy Ray or the Afro American guy in the Indian headdress.

Original MNF crew. Howard, Frank and Dandy. That was entertainment.

ESPN Sunday Night Football and MNF on ABC was better than the current setup! I'd prefer MNF being the primetime game of the week

If your thinking of "This is the NFL", I would agree. It was on Saturday night at 7PM EST and was an hour long. For those in out of state markets that didn't get to see the game every week, this was a must watch for me in my teenage years.

Everything that all of you said.

One thing I feel is underrated was Fox "little" sound of the score changing in the early 2000s until I would say 2008. Thought it was kind of cool.

Also, I always loved a buildup with some video montage in the beginning of each game like what NBC use to do for the NBA (and NFL). Now we have to look at the commentators and numbers, like I care.

ABC's Monday Night Football with Howard Cosell. People can say what they want about ole arrogant Howard. He brought something to everything he did. I loved him as a boxing guy...he was great with Ali and Frazieŕ.
The hail Mary pass is a piece of Dallas nostalgia that l revisit many times a year along with the old Doomsday Defense!,

for example I really miss bermans fastest three Minutes. I fondly remember watching the highlights with the epic music and the drama they'd build(Bc back then you really don't know all the results already)with the "tiiick tick- tick- tick - tick- tick -tick

And the old fox graphic and music with summeral and maddens voices is just football to me

That and Prime Time (back in the day). It was Old School Red Zone!

Almost as good as watching the game.

George Michael was the best, he was even live in Pasadena in 92 when the Boys won the SB......he had the best highlights.........of all sports.
