But thats where coaching comes into place. We can make excuses all we want. But a good coach will do the things necessary to win even with a backup QB. I bet Parcells found ways to win games like this.

To paraphrase Parcells, "I don't coach poor reads, bad throws and drops". Weeden was horrific today, and Dez wasn't much better. No amount of coaching acumen was going to overcome that combo, at least not against a quality opponent like Arizona.

Arizona has a great defensive line. That said, it's a lot easier to do when the opposing team doesn't have a QB to keep a defense honest. If Romo where in the game, I think Murray gets his 100 yards and we see a completely different game. (probably still close, but not an inept Cowboys offense)

If Romo is healthy and the Cowboys offensive line is healthy and these two teams meet in the playoffs. The Cardinals probably don't win that game.

I agree, the playcalling was terrible........................not that it would have mattered as bad as Weeden played, but running straight up the gut into the teeth of the number one ranked run defense in the NFL is just stupid.

What is stupid is, they knew that AZ was (i think) first against the run? So what do they do? They challenge that instead of working around it with a different game plan that maybe Doofus could run. lol

Hey, they did try a roll out! That was cool, got some yards too! That must have been to easy for them. Let's run up the gut and lose a couple yards, that will teach them! Or, let's really take it to them and watch Weeden beat them with the passing attack because it had been reported that AZ was almost last in Defense defending the pass and Weeden used to play baseball and he will get it done.

I just have to laugh at this game....lol

Play-calling... Our inability to properly adjust tot he blitz. I'm beginning to think it's all scheme. We've got runners coming free on every blitz. It's like we don't even take them into account and even if we do know a blitz is coming, we still have them come through.

Even in the skins game, we gained 8 yards on 1st down run and pass on 2nd and 3rd downs. Sometimes it is the attitude that the coaching staff gives the OL and the team and letting them run, run when it is working

That ain't what happened today.

1st Q: 3rd and 1- converted; 3rd and 10 - converted; 3rd and 14 - punt

2nd Q: 3rd and 8 - punt; 3rd and 12 - punt

3Q: 3rd and 7 - punt; 3rd and 9 - interception; 3rd and 7 - converted (extremely questionable def pen)

4Q: 3rd and 2 - punt; 3rd and 8 - gained 7, 4th and 1 no gain; 3rd and 2 - converted (garbage time)

3 of 11 on 3rd down; Avg yards to gain on 3rd down - 7.27

And Weeden has no touch whatsoever, he throws the ball 90 mph even if the receiver is 2 yards in front of him.................LOL

I hate those power formations where everybody is up on the line. IMO, it's a higher percentage play for the Cowboys to spread out and run it.

I think Tyron and Martin had more issues than Bern and Parnell.

I actually think Parnell is playing just as good or better than Free right now.

This game was all about cutting the head of the snake. And our snake lost it's head last week. Look at how many man they had at the line of scrimmage on that play.

Actually he threw behind Dez on a slant where Dez was running 90 mph. When he threw that short ball to Beasley I was hoping that Beasley was not hurt because he's not much bigger than the ball. Beasley got the first down. How come they did not have other plays like that? The oline cannot block....do something! lol

Just a nasty stupid game! I hope the coaches chew up on that.
