Ouch bro! Have faith we can win the NFC east! Go cowboys

I wish I could over look the Giants D and the additions they made in the off-season but I can't. We still make the playoffs as a wild card at 10-6. Giants go 11 and 5 to take the east.

Broaddus mentioned it here:

Bryan Broaddus: Going into the offseason, one of the areas Dak Prescott wanted improve on was his ability to throw the ball from the middle of the pocket. Why would he want to do that? Prescott knows that defensive coordinators have spent all offseason trying to figure out ways to limit his ability to play on the edges. When Prescott is throwing on the move, he's at his best, so he knows coordinators are going to play him differently. What I have been impressed with through these early practices is how well Prescott is making those tight-window throws from the pocket over the middle of the field. His accuracy has been outstanding as well as his pace. The offensive line has done a nice job of keeping things clean in front of him and the receivers have found separation. Other than the interception he threw to Mark Nzeocha, his hard work in the offseason has appeared to have paid off and defensive coordinators will likely be left going back to the tape to work on other ideas.

If I was a defensive coordinator I would start with data like his passing chart to decipher the "book on dak"

Based on this data, I'd guess that two deep safeties would not be necessary and playing the odds, I'd stack everything closer to the LOS.

Problem is that is what most scatter plot charts look for almost every team these days. Short throws out to the perimeter.

Opposing defenses will attempt to hem Dak in, thereby forcing him to throw from the pocket. Good luck with that . . . in order to be successful in that ploy, they'll be obliged to get penetration. Accomplishing that feat vs. our OL is likely to be the cause of much frustration, just as it has in recent times. I think Dak's timing and accuracy will also cause problems this year, more than was the case in his rookie season. The offensive staff has been working him at throwing down the middle of the field with good timing and accuracy. Thus far, he's reportedly progressing quite well.

When Jerry hands Dak the Superbowl trophy, there will be journalists who say there is now enough game tape to decipher Dak Prescott.

When he hoists his second NFL championship trophy the press will lay claim that the Cowboys cannot continue to pay the price they do for an offensive line that may be the best ever, and Dak will be exposed.

His third trophy will bring out the mediots telling us he is good, Maybe better than they think, but the team is why he succeeds.

His fourth time on the dais hoisting the Lombardi, we will hear he is getting older and cannot continue to succeed since the Cowboys are perpetually drafting at the bottom of the draft.

His fifth and final championship we shall hear Prescott is one of the best, but Brady is better.

And as these things come to pass, my middle finger will be the only reply the press hears from this fan.

To make it hard on Dak they should make him throw the ball down the field. It is his biggest weakness right now in my opinion.

Taking away the run also makes it hard on Dak. So you can expect all teams to try to do both to the extent possible.
It's very difficult to take the run game and the long ball away at the same time. And.....like Dak himself said, don't forget, he too has one more year to study the DEFENSE. It goes both ways.

I've never really understood this term. Do they mean that there is now an offseason and time to study tape? Because did 16 games some how magically show more than 10 games of tape did. They weren't any better at stopping him with 10 games of tape than 4 or 5.

Dak will be just fine.

But come on now, surely you understand 3-4 days of prep on game week is not the same as weeks (or even months if a division rival) of offseason film dissection.

I'm not worried about Dak, but defensive coordinators are very bright.

It's also true that Dak has more time to study other teams on the schedule, but my guess is he'll spend more time in the offseason working on his actual game, not on specific teams.

Our coaching staff on the other hand, will certainly have been thinking of more and better ways to deploy Dak--and especially against our rivals.
Daks job will be to execute the updates.

I like his odds.

Nate kinda explained this the other day. He said during the season when you're facing a new opponent each week, they really just focus on the previous 4 games. During the off season, your division and conference rivals typically assign someone on staff to go through all 16 of your games with a fine-tooth comb to figure out your tendencies. He said they also likely have someone doing the same for Dak on the Cowboy staff to see what he needs to work on, which is probably why they have him working on what he's been improving in camp.

Like the majority of QBs, apply pressure up the middle and take away the 1st and possibly the 2nd read. The goal is to get the QB off time and force him to throw it away, make a poor decision, or turn the ball over. IMO one of Dak's best attributes as a QB is staying on time.

The book on Dak : Dak has a below average NFL arm and must be able to utilize the middle of the field so obviously you want to try to force him to throw to the sidelines especially to his left. This is the book on Dak. Having said this taking away the middle of the field will be tough that's a lot of green to cover. I expect Dak will have a good year his yards and passing TDs should come up but his INTs will most likely double. Giants most likely win the NFC this year our defense and pass rush will struggle going from one of the easiest schedules last year to one of the tuffest this year.
Has a below average arm but threw a dart 60 yards down field.......
