I forget the game or who it was with, but Emmitt basically pulled a Barry Sanders and bounced off of several tackles (they had Emmitt in his tracks) and all of a sudden, he re-emerges from the pile and shoots around the corner... I'll never forget that play.

The 75 yard run against the Commanders in 1991 was my favorite run.

One of my favorite plays was against Denvre in 1995. Emmitt took out a blitzing linebacker coming up the middle. He just demolished the guy and both the linebacker and Emmitt ended up on the turf. Emmitt then bounced up and found a spot just beyond the line of scrimmage where Aikman tossed the ball to him. Emmitt made a couple of guys miss and ended up with the first down. Not a big gainer, but it just showed Emmitt's all around ability.

Emmitts first carry of the season on Monday night football that went for like 50 yards and a TD. Can't remember exactly what year that was.

You are thinking of the 1992 game against Atlanta on MNF.

1995 and I think it was 60 yards.

Ripping off his helmet and showing his raw determination after scoring on the Bills in the Super Bowl ... capping off that second half drive in which he truly dominated (he touched the ball on almost every play of that particular drive).

It was that seemingly uncharacteristic display of raw emotion that I'll always remember.

Emmitts Game against LSU, a run in the 3rd quarter of that game. He ran for like 130 yards, 80 in one quarter on just a couple of carries. I knew right then that he was the real deal.

The multiple runs in a row to start the second half against the Bills in the 93 Super Bowl. The Bills knew it was coming and simply had no answer for him.

yes. this is my answer.

the MNF one against the Falcons mentioned earlier is another favorite..

Here is another one:

Emmitt dives towards the goalline, a linebacker hits him HARD right in the middle of the air, the linebacker falls, Emmitt comes down on his feet, does a spin move to avoid another tackler and crosses the goalline.. I dont remember who it was against..

I remember a game in, I think 1991 or 1992 when we were playing the Detroit Lions. One particular drive epitomized what Emmitt meant to the Cowboys. The entire drive almost was carries by Smith and it ended up being like an 80 yard drive for, what else, an Emmitt touchdown. Every run was like 4 yards... 5 yards... 2 yards... 8 yards... 7 yards... 7 yards... 2 yards... 10 yards... They knew he was coming, they put eight in the box and simply couldn't stop the man. He ground it out, hopped up after each hit, went back to the huddle and did it again.

I remember thinking that, even on runs where it looked like he made very little yardage... he ended up with like 4 or 5 on the play. Just couldn't be stopped... and WORE OUT that Detroit defense. They were demoralized by the end of that drive. You could see it. They wanted no more of Emmitt Smith, but they got more anyway.

Moose (lead blocking) and Emmitt just took over that day.

I remember all the good runs (Atl, Wash mnf, NY Giants seperated shoulder), but one play that comes to mind is a bad one. It was against the Houston Oilers. It was a close game. Emmitt ended up fumbling the ball late in the 4th qtr. I think somehow he ran into Irvin and the ball popped loose. After the game was over, Emmitt and Michael were just sitting there with their heads down.

Tony Dorsett against the St. Louis Cardinals. 2 defenders came up to make the stop. TD ran right at them and at the last possible instant spun to his left (I think), leaving the defenders wondering where in Hell's bathroom he had disappeared to. Meanwhile, Touchdown Tony is 25 yards downfield and the groundskeeper is being paged to retrieve the 2 jockstraps lying in the middle of the field.:D
