What's the one play you will never forget (Emmitt Smith)

Here is another one:

Emmitt dives towards the goalline, a linebacker hits him HARD right in the middle of the air, the linebacker falls, Emmitt comes down on his feet, does a spin move to avoid another tackler and crosses the goalline.. I dont remember who it was against..
I think it was the Cardinals, and I think I was at that game.

That great run he had against Minnesota where he stiff armed two guys to the ground, and the last guy brought him down. He broke his hand in the facemask of the tackler, so that wasn't good... but it was an amazing run.

Emmitts first carry of the season on Monday night football that went for like 50 yards and a TD. Can't remember exactly what year that was.

i believe that was the 1995-1996 season opener against the new york giants in east rutherford.our last super bowl year.:)

I forget the game or who it was with, but Emmitt basically pulled a Barry Sanders and bounced off of several tackles (they had Emmitt in his tracks) and all of a sudden, he re-emerges from the pile and shoots around the corner... I'll never forget that play.

i believe that was a monday night game against the atlanta falcons during the 1992-1993 season.

Against the 49'ers after T.O. Owens danced on the star. Emmitt scored a TD then ran to the 50 and reclaimed the star.:star:

Might have been a game against the Raiders in 1992 or 1993.

Mines a weird one. I'm not even sure what game it was, but Emmitt's last year with the Cowboys it was about a 7 yard sweep to the left, and a defender was coming and Emmitt does a little stutter step juke, nothing major, but it breaks the defenders ankles, and Emmitt walks into the endzone.

I remember thinking to myself, that even when has "lost a step" he can still look like the best.

That was the 95 opener against the Giants, and it stands out as my favorite play as well.

Tony Dorsett fumbling against the beagles in a playoff loss in the early 80's

You are thinking of the 1992 game against Atlanta on MNF.

I was at that game...it was great!
Emmitt had 173 yards that night, and clinched the NFC East

I have two non-distinct plays. The first one was in a preseason game his rookie year. A swing pass and he stops, stutters and makes two people miss making it look effortless in the process. I remember thinking then that we had something great in him.

The other was the fake to him on the goal line where he jumped over the top (without the ball) and injured himself. He REALLY sold the play showing how much he wanted to win.

That's the one for me as well.

What's the one play that will be stuck in your mind for now on that was all Emmitt?
The first game on the season I think 1995 after we won the Super bowl and on a play action fake, Emmitt dove over the top and almost broke his neck. I was scared we had lost our RB, I think it was against the Bears...........

I think that the game he had like 180 at the half but was hurt and did not play the 2nd half

the run he broke the rushing title against the seahawks

I'd have to say that as well, not only was it Emmitt's best run, it was also the only glimmer in an otherwise pathetic season, so it really sticks out in my mind

The game you're thinking of was against the Vikings. Emmitt wanted to break the single game rushing record that day. I can't remember exactly, but it was some kind of anniversary of Walter Payton.
