I was on a telnet BBS with what used to be my standard username. I started playing MajorMUD and wanted a second character, so I had to create a new BBS username. My sister on the phone joking with her friend about green eggs and ham. Then born was Sam I Am.

It's shorter at least. I'm really not even that big of a Buffett fan. I was there for Jazz Fest to see Bob Dylan, Dr. John, Robert Randolph, Galactic, and Fats Domino. Jimmy Buffett played too and I didn't even go to his set. That was in 2006 and I was registering for the Dallas Morning News forum simply to see if we signed T.O. Good times!

I first started visiting message boards in 2000 on the Rivals site. The Cowboys board was called Silver Star and the golf board was called Ham and Egg. Skins fans trolled that board relentlessly because they had signed Deion and Bruce and they were just going to "dominate the league" (I still get a laugh at how that all turned out). I wanted to pick a username that would be as offensive as possible to the roaming trolls so I picked skinsscalper. It just happened to translate well to the golf board, also, so I've used it ever since.
