Funny how McC gets the weight thing and Reid escapes it. Parcells, "The Moober", didn't catch as much heat.

What we do know is the Packers with Rogers have been to 5 championship appearances . They haven’t slipped off since McCarthy left.

The fact they didn’t win more championships is on the Packers organization not Rogers who’s personal production and ability is obviously enough.

I’d argue Rodgers has carried their franchise this era much like Romo did our previous era and Dak is doing now. Once you find that QB it’s up to the franchise to surround them.

It takes more than a quarterback, no matter how good the quarterback is. Landry didn't win Super Bowls just because he had Staubach. Dallas built one of the best defenses and had one of the best running games ... and back then, you could actually keep those units together for years.

I don't care if you are a top QB or a coach who happenned to win a Super Bowl. One Super Bowl proves nothing. It does not make you a Hall of Fame QB and it does not make you a coach who should not be questioned or ridiculed. So spare me the Manning, Marino, Dungy, Sean Peyton scenarios who had great QB's but only won one SB or won none. I know it takes more than a great QB and it is a team game.

He’s way better than average. He has some time management issues, but in most areas he is outstanding.

Most football fans are completely clueless, regarding the importance of coaching. Good coaching is way more important in football than most other sports( Baseball and Basketball for example).

The Packers made a couple of NFC title games with some truly bad defenses (usually due to an injury-plagued secondary) and won a Super Bowl with over a dozen starters on IR, if I recall correctly. Please don't mistake me for a McCarthy homer by any stretch, though.

He's not perfect.

Apparently, he has some issues when dealing with gametime decisions. Most HC's probably do but this is hilighted more because it is happening during a telivised game.

Many fans won't see this as a minor issue and disregard McCarthy's obvious strengths which is selecting his coaches, delegating responsibilities among those coaches, relating to the players, and managing the team's practices to obtain maximum results.

This team just seems better trained and prepared for the games. That's the HC.

Then, why are you getting on to McCarthy for not winning more than one Super Bowl with Rodgers? If you know it's a team game, then you know that it takes more than a QB.

McCarthy should be given credit for leading a team to a Super Bowl victory because that's not easy to do no matter who you've got at quarterback. If he wants to be a Hall of Fame coach some day, he's got to accomplish more than that ... but in no way does that mean he should have accomplished more in Green Bay. He had nice success with the Packers and I'd be glad to have that here.

Depending on how this season plays out, I put him at 2-6. We win the Super Bowl, I put him at #2.

If the Cowboys do end up winning the Super bowl then McCarthy becomes a sure HOFer as the only head coach in NFL history to win Super Bowls with two different franchises.

His success is tied in with the Cowboys success and that's the way it is for this season.

Obviously, I wish him the best and he doesn't need the distraction of having to explain himself to a bunch of sports show analysts attempting to promote discord for the sake of ratings or likes or anything like that.

Let's give the guy a real COMPLETE season after actual minicamps, training camp and preseason games minus the injury epidemic of 2020. Then we can fairly judge him on the results.

I don't bash him, he's had some questionable time management issues, but he's had the team ready to go. I think he's doing a good job.

Ranching consider his first year..he had no say so who would be OC...Jones said it will be Moore...after last years fiasco....he had no say so who would be DC...Jones did....all he was required to do is clock

management ( way below average ) and be Jones puppet.....in reality is his under coaches that get team ready during week.....i understand the politics....but Jones would be smart to pay Moore more money

than McCarthey to keep him since no cap on paying coaches and in 2007 Jones paid OC Garrett more money then HC to stay as OC....say what you want about Wade Phillips being too easy on players

but he can grind out a defense for any team....just keep our OC and DC happy mr Jones...pay them both more than HC because he is only figure-head in my lowly opinion....and i have no issue being

Hindsight is 20/20. What about all the times he went for it on 4th down and succeeded?

Rockport if you go for 4th every time you will have some success....but its the times during the game that can stupid...like us going for it on first drive on our own 35....put way too much pressure on our defense

and NE scored TD easily we down 7-0....for me any person that is fine using an excuse....i could not see the clock as justification for not calling time out just shows a level of stupidity that shows up many other

places...mr Jones just make sure to pay the OC and DC big bucks ( no cap on paying coaches ) and continue to keep leash on McCarthey short so we dont have to win despite oursleves...like also not calling

time out when it was clear Dak scored on sneak on 3rd down just looking at body position in reference to end zone line....but NO...hurry up and try over the top sneak and Dak fumbles....but Dak brought victory

Just read an article where Jon Gruden and Sean Payton were saying it's not as easy it seems. A lot of issues go through your mind/head with little time to make decisions. Jerry said yesterday that MM and coaches even practice different time management scenarios for games ( I didn't know that). When you think about it they (coaches ) have what, 30 seconds to a min to make most decisions.

Honest question....do think he confers with his assist HC, and/or coordinators for their input?

It’s not hard. Most of us have watched enough football to know when to call a timeout. Certainly these situations he has been bumbling weren’t complicated at all.

And I don’t care what the odds are of picking up a first down on 4th and 2, you don’t go for it on the first drive of the game when you have the much better team and your opponent has an average offense.
