What's wrong with McClain?

Injury update: Rolando McClain initially left the game because of dehydration and illness, but after the game Garrett said the linebacker suffered a concussion. McClain missed the regular-season finale because of an illness.

McClain looked in discomfort as he left the locker room.

“We’ll continue to monitor him,” Garrett said.

In order to play next week he will have to pass the concussion protocols. Without McClain, rookie Anthony Hitchens had to play more than expected. He did not practice during the week because of a high right ankle sprain, but appeared to make it through the game OK.

That doesn't sound good.

Here's some more on Rolando McClain from DMN, I still haven't listened to Jason Garrett's post game presser in its entirety yet.

The quote below says concussion-like symptoms, not concussion, which is a positive.

And Anthony Hitchens is an absolute warrior.

Cowboys athletic trainers evaluated McClain for a concussion early in the second quarter. With 5:11 to play before halftime, the Cowboys announced McClain had gone into the locker room because of illness and dehydration.

“He had concussion-like symptoms and that’s why he had to come out of the game,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. “So we’ll continue to monitor him. He came into the locker room and he went home already, so we’ve just got to see how he’s doing when he comes in [Monday].”

“Hitchens really deserves the credit,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. “He was in a lot of pain in [the locker room] a minute ago, but boy, he played through that high ankle sprain.”

why the hell would he leave the stadium? this guy....i'm telling you...think LONG and HARD before you give him a new deal. he is way to UP and DOWN for my taste.

Yea, I don't get just going home.

He is as soft as Lee apparently

At the end of Garrett's PC the PR guy corrected comments about Ro. They took him to the locker room because of the dehydration issues/illness and during that examination they saw concussion symptoms and initiated protocol. He was already home by the end of the game. They will see how he is tomorrow.
He went home? Why? I can understand not playing, but I'd expect someone to stick around on the sidelines in a playoff game.

May be he went to the hospital

If he had concussion symptoms one of the symptoms was probably a raging headache. That, and the dehydration issues, weren't going to be helped by staying in the stadium.

Sounds to me like #55 was throwing up and had dilated pupils...not good but we'll see.

Gut feel but I don't see Ro here next year. Not sure he will make it long term he is a magnet for issues

Not trying to bash I appreciate his good work this year and hope he has a great life. Just giving my take

:laugh:Boy tons of angles on what's going on with Ro. I'm thinking it was depression because Bama lost to OState.
Seriously would love to see him making grilled cheese sandwiches on Sunday. Get Well RO!!

McClain DID NOT leave before the game was over. I watched him walk out after the game. Yes he was one of the first players to leave but it wasn't till after the game was over. I stayed in the stadium until the end of the game and then walked a good distance to where the players come out. McClain was out before the other players but he came out right after Doug Free ( in a walking boot) and Sean Lee. I saw mc Clain go into the looker room before half and he never came back out. I'm sure he showered early and was dressed well before the end of the game. I was also listening to Garett's press conference thru my earphones. Garrett had his press conference about 20 mins after the players went into the locker room. Garett said McClain had already left home but it was well after the game was over.

Yeh when I listened to JG's PC, I took what JG said as Ro came in to the locker room after the game and then went home.

I don't know why people think he left before the game was over by what JG said on his PC.

Don't want to derail the discussion too much, but I gotta give some serious props to Hitchens for playing through a high ankle sprain the whole game. Tough as a nail.

I'm actually more worried about Carter. Anything on him?!?
