I remember when Eagles fans used the same logic when they lost DeSean. "It was system not him". "Maclin will replace him easy." How did that turn out? .......?
Well....actually

Maclin :
85 catches
1318 yards
10 TDs

Jackson:
56 catches
1169 years
6 TDs

Quite well

We're not done yet but for me favorite: The Collins Coup.... Least: no resolution to CB contracts... Carr not cut or paycut.. scandrick wanting more $.

We essentially traded Murray for McFadden, and a few games with whatever is left of Hardy after a year and a half off the field. Even before knowing what the draft would bring, I disliked that.

As for favorite move, it's Collins in a landslide.

Favorite move: Signing La'el Collins.

Least favorite: Not drafting a back. I actually like the guys they have more than a lot of fans do, but I was really hoping to add a rookie to the mix.

Best: Getting Collins/Not overpaying Murray

Worst: Hmmm....I haven't really hated anything to this point. I'd say right now the one that annoys me most is not getting Dez deal done

Randy Gregory might be my vote for best and worst.

Hard to hate the value of where we got him at.
However I said prior to the draft I did not want to draft him due to his drug situation. He is already in NFL drug problem after testing positive at the combine.
One thing of solace concerning that is that he and his people made sure that clubs that could take him would have a plan in place to help him and have someone around him.

So...as crazy as it sounds...he could be my answer to both Best and Worst.

Love that we landed Hardy

The Draft is my least favorite - not because I don't like what we did, but because it seems so high-risk/high-reward to me. I'm gun-shy on first-round corners (especially the "workout warrior" variety), and then Gregory. It could either be huge, or blow up.

Best - Gregory. I can't explain in words how excited I was when we drafted this kid.

Worst - tough call. I guess if I had to say I would point at the RB situation, but Randle intrigues me.

I don't really dislike anything the FO has done this offseason.

What is the difference between weed and alcohol, really? Now, if this was cocaine, I get it.

How many athletes have alcohol problems, you do not hear of?

If the guy gets a hot urine test for Mary Jane (not alcohol) than he enters phase 2 of the NFL drug program.

Now if Randy Gregory was known to be a alcoholic who showed up to practice or games drunk...I am sure they, the team, would be just as upset with him even if it were not a failed drug test.

If Randy Gregory gets drunk and gets busted for a DUI...he is subject to team/nfl penalties as well.

If Randy Gregory is drunk and gets arrested for public intoxication (inlcuding other added legal issues involving alcohol) he is subject to team/nfl penalties as well.

I have heard the weak argument of Alcohol vs Mary Jane concerning the NFL too many times and find it...weak. There are rules in place for the players in the NFL and they know these rules. You follow the rules, you don't get in trouble...you break the rules you do get in trouble.

This is the NFL...they have their own set of rules. This is not the ordinary citizen job.
Heck even other jobs out there have stipulations when it comes to drug use and drug test. You want to work at the job, you follow the rules, you don't follow the rules, you get in trouble.

Until they rules are changed you sign a contract and agree to the rules.

I really don't understand why so many want to make excuses for this or that like it is ok. It is NOT ok. You want to work for the NFL and a Team, you follow the rules...it is really that simple.

This is not a situation where just because you think the law should be this or that so you will just follow this or that rule and ignore others and in doing so you will not get in trouble.

Simple...you want to play, you sign the contract, you agree to the rules, you break the rules and get caught, you face the penalties.

I am not making excuses, I do not think, MJ should be legal. I think it was a dumb thing. I think the guy is either Bipolar or has BPD, either way, as long as he can get it under control, it should be fine. Another Dallas great was sorta like this, came over from the 49ers.

But anyway, did you miss the entire 90's teams? A grocery list of players and things they did, could and have been made. So, for a 21yr old kid, who needs to get his mental illness(my thoughts) under control, give him a little break.

Getting Collins and Dallas lack of urgency to get a deal done with Murray before he hit FA market.

It makes no difference what YOU think should be legal or ok...It is what the Teams and the NFL think. THAT is what some of you don't seem to understand.

The player signs the contract and agrees to the rules. It is really that simple no matter if you think the rules or right or not.

If the rules are changed in the future than that would be a different story, but they are there right now and that is what matters no matter how many times you try to explain how you think it should be legal or ok...cause the Team and the NFL makes the rules, not you, and the player agrees to follow the rules and signs the contract.

I will also add....Difference between the cowboys of the 90's and some of the kids today...The cowboys of the 90's were smart enough not get multiple failed tests like Gregory did. Everybody knew that Stepnoski smoked it, yet he was not dumb enough to get busted for smoking it.

I think what I was saying with the MJ being legal is, I am against it, and it should show, I am ok with him testing positive, it is not a gateway or a drug like cocaine.

As for signing something, Has he tested positive while under an NFL contract?

As for the 90s kids, so it is ok if they do it, as long as not getting busted? Rules are rules, but rules are meant to be bent.

He is already in phase one of the NFL Drug program because he tested positive during combine...contract or not.

Never said it was ok in the 90's...I said they were smart enough not to get busted multiple times.

looooong exhale lol

You specifically said "The player signs the contract and agrees to the rules. It is really that simple no matter if you think the rules or right or not."

IMO, he has done nothing wrong at the NFL level, if he was not contracted. If he is in the program, because his employer knows of a drug problem he has, that is a different story.
