I was a punker in my late teens. Adore Rancid, NOFX, Op Ovy, Misfits, Travis Barker (and early Blink- pre Barker/Cheshire Cat/Dude Ranch), Slick Shoes, Lagwagon, Tiger Army, (early) AFI, The Ramones, The Clash, TSOL, Black Flag to name a very few. This song is rad

Seen em at The Glass House and at Warped Tour 2002

Misfits covered this track on some comp album (tried to find it, but couldn't), but this is where it's at

Gutter Punk

An all-time great in Punk/Ska

(oh snaps, dont make me bust out Less than Jake!!!)

-- anyways, Rancid --

And then when best buds, NOFX and Rancid did a few albums covering each other's songs

Matt Freeman is one of the greatest bassists, ever, and I'm reaching way back into the burnt out brain to find a track that showcases his talent.

GREATEST RANCID SONG EVER:

I can post NOFX forever. Forever. So here's an album released by them in the middle of their prime. It's a single recording that encompasses all of their material, from White Trash, So Long..., Ribbed, Heavy Petting Zoo, Pump up the Valuum, to their newer stuff.. this is all of it

They have played this only a half dozen times live because it is undoubtedly taxing, and when Fat Mike gets on stage he turns into a doosh bag diva

Man, I love this guy. Died flying his Long EZ (I have a Long EZ story for anyone interested)

His version of this following track I had from a bootleg I got overseas in 2005 is the best I've ever heard, his vocal inflection on the second chorus when he sings "take me hooo--eeemmmm" I can't find :(

Love John Denver! Purest voice of any male vocalist ever! Here's my favorite:

I adore him with all of my heart, Run. I remember the day he died. My mom was infatuated with him. She cried for a couple days.
I'm not surprised. He was (in the public's eye anyway) the clean cut, all American boy, with a voice like the ringing of a crystal champagne glass.

I've never heard this before, and please, some of you older folks that have been around the scene longer than myself, check me, but Dave seems like a white Lionel Richie

Is that heresy? Way off? Kinda close? Dead on?

I can't bring myself to listen to Dave Matthews and don't know why but trust myself to have a good reason. I will add the last thing this world needs is another Lionel Richie in any shade. I remember why I don't like him, but won't get into it.

Well to be honest, Lionel Richie would never have come to mind for me, while listening to this. If I had to compare this to anyone, the only thing that comes to mind is Michael McDonald or Rod Stewart...not for the vocals so much, but for the style of music, and even that's a stretch. This is pretty unique to me, which isn't good or bad, just different.
