There have been many great ones and some great memories.

And of course there have been some clunkers and some memories we wish we could forget.

Here is what sticks out to me the most when I think of our Cowboys playing on Thanksgiving.

My favorite is when most zoners wanted us to lose to the Giants, so we can get a higher draft choice that would guarantee us the next 10 SBs....but? We won the game and they all went on an extended vacation to fantasy island.

That time Cole Beasley was playing for the Bills and they beat us and made fun of Dak and Zeke.

Irvin's one-handed touchdown in 1995 against Patrick Mahommes and KC

Dexter Coakley's Pick 6 in 2000.
The one-handed touchdown was on Dale Carter.

The Clint Longley game, for sure. I was 13, but remember it like it was yesterday.

He later sucker-punched Roger in the locker room, was put on a bus, and never heard from again.

1979, my Dad decided to take the family out for Thanksgiving, reservations at 4pm!
It was probably a good thing as that was the day Earl Campbell destroyed our defense.

I know this will sound weird..

But the 1993 Miami/Leon Lett game.

Here's why:

I knew the Cowboys were a great, great team before kickoff.

They then lost in absurd, shocking, embarrassing fashion in front of the whole planet in a wildly entertaining game.

After the game I had no anxiety over it. Maybe even smirked to myself:

Because I knew backs against the wall that was the best, most driven, prideful, complete football team ever assembled.

No way they were losing again in a game of consequences. It just wasn't possible.

Man oh man...it's close between two iconic moments. Running outside after Garrett saved the day against the Packers, or walking out on my girlfriend after the Miami FG debacle. I'm going to say Miami, just because I can remember every single emotion that I went through for hours after.
That Leon Lett game was unreal. That guy had so much physical potential and so little upstairs. He was much more physically gifted than Haley, but was never as consistent.
