Back in the day it was Diablo, and Ultima Online, and a few others. I haven't played a game in years, but I will if, and when Diablo III comes out.

I never got to play Diablo II, but Diablo I couldn't in any way be considers massive multi-player game. (I think it was limited to like 4-8 players per instances or something. (long time ago!)

If Diablo III is similar, it couldn't be considered a massive multi-player game either.

I've played most of the MMo's that have come out over the years. Nothing has even come close to Everquest. Everquest 2 held my interest for a while but it still doesn't hold a candle to the original, it still pretty much copy's WoW's model.

WoW ruined MMo's for me. Every MMO that has come out since WoW has been pretty much the same as WoW due to it's success. It set the standard, and the standard is garbage.

It's not really a MMORPG, but I play League of Legends a lot right now. It's got some RPGish elements and you play with others, but it's not one huge world or anything. It's match-based.

I've played just about every MMORPG at one point or another. The one I played the longest was the original EQ. Interestingly enough, there's a new progression server opening on the 15th for EQ. So, if you're wanting to relive the classic feel, I guess now is the time.

League of Legends is all I play right now. Constantly. So addicting.

Time Locked Progression server? Oh man I might be playing EQ1 in 2 days.

I'm looking forward to Star wars the old republic. I tried star trek online and was largely disappointed.

I could have told that was going to suck from Day one the best thing that ever happen to City of Heores was Jack Emmeirt leaving that guy was a boob and caused more issues in the use community and hurt the game for years the population grew after he left after it had declined badly from it's peak.

No kidding! Emmert was a guy who thought that what he thought was fun....was The Fun. And that's how people should play.

City of Heroes did much better after he left/focused on other things.

Guild Wars 2, The Secret World, and the Star Wars: The Old Republic game are the three that look most interesting, though the first two are a bit on the horizen.

But different strokes and all... I thought EQ and UO were just awful, and it kept me away from MMOs for years.

I installed and played it. It seemed pretty cool, but every time I started a game my teammates were idiots.

Runescape? I feel like I'm 13 again.

I played Runescape about 4-5 years ago. It initially had my interest, but that game had some serious monotony. After a while I couldn't play it anymore.

For all of you who played EverQuest 1 (maybe 2 as well), your accounts are likely activated until the 25th of the month. I played EQ1 long ago and I got emails a few days ago for each of them saying they were activated until the 25th.
