I didn't install the game again but I logged in on their site and it still showed all my characters though some had "x" or "xx" after the names I assume because of server mergers.

Used to play WOW, until I realized every day on that game is pretty much the same. They just keep adding more levels. Stopped playing about a year and a half back and don't miss it at all.

No kidding! Emmert was a guy who thought that what he thought was fun....was The Fun. And that's how people should play.

City of Heroes did much better after he left/focused on other things.

Guild Wars 2, The Secret World, and the Star Wars: The Old Republic game are the three that look most interesting, though the first two are a bit on the horizen.

But different strokes and all... I thought EQ and UO were just awful, and it kept me away from MMOs for years.

I loved UO and played it liek 4 years I skipped Evercrack and went to DAOC that was well done and then they TOA was a disaster and WOW came out

Best Item in the game when I played was like + 180 hp..

there is 1500+ hp gear now.. craziness.

Someone was talking about having enough hp to survive deathtouch now.. unreal.

For all of you who played EverQuest 1 (maybe 2 as well), your accounts are likely activated until the 25th of the month. I played EQ1 long ago and I got emails a few days ago for each of them saying they were activated until the 25th.

Kilyin got that email too, but I didn't. I would have to install it again, but I just might, since it's free. One thing about playing on the emulator is having to completely start over. I miss my uber-at-that-time gear and especially my horse.

LOTRO is a good game but I just couldn't get into it like I have w/ other MMO's. My girl and I still play a smidge while Rift is preparing for launch, but its more her than me. I just can't bring myself to play anymore.

I have my guardian to lvl 50, but it's really a different game than what I am used to.

I looked at the characters on that Rift. I can't find one I would be comfortable with. They all appear to have glaring weaknesses.

Glaring weaknesses? You haven't even played the game to know the skills they posess.

Don't make me turn this car around.

Seriously...just log in and pick Mage/Warrior/Rogue or Cleric. Once you do that then your 1st quest is what ACTUAL mage would you want to be or whatever.

Warlock
Dominator
etc...

Then as you progress you get other MAGE classes to add to your say Warlock you chose earlier. So you could then be a Necro/Warlock w/ skill trees in each and pts to add to more Necro talents or Warlock talents. As you progress some more you get 2 more classes to add.

This is just an example. This works the same w/ any Base class you choose.

It's a marketing beta.

Not sure how much changing they are or should be doing at this point. It does seem to have a flexible character set up. Though I think the beta uses accelerated soul accretion.

Yes the open beta is 6 days. They have done numerous closed Beta events already.

Well i got my open Beta and if it goes well I am going to Preorder and dump COH.

I am so looking forward to the dual Blades. I love me some melee damage dealers

yeah when I dl'ed it I discovered all my accounts were active. Pretty neat. They have an easy patcher/DL on their website only took like 20 minutes to Dl/install *6.5 gigs*

The new server opens up today at like noon est I think.

If you plan on playing lemme know I'll try to grab a name or two if you want them.

My biggest problem is I burnout on these games pretty quickly.
