I live in PA but have been a Cowboys fan my entire life. The first football game I can recall watching was on my birthday. It was the Super Bowl between Dallas and Denver. Maybe I fell in love with the star and Roger Staubach. It was never about the cheerleaders!!!

Mainly I remember the 1980's Cowboys we were real good the beginning of th decade and I loved Danny White and Tony D., but there was always someone better. I cried when Dwight Clark made that damn catch. So it was only fitting that my proudest and favorite moment as a fan was the NFC Championship against the 49ers when Aikman hit Harper on the slant. I knew at that moment we are going to be Champs. I had waited my whole life......

So what is your story and what state are you from?

No offense, but you might want to do a search on that. This thread had been done about 10 times now almost. You'll find those threads pretty good too.

I was lucky enough that my dad loved Tony D. I live and grew up in central Illinois and have been a Cowboy fan my entire life. You'd be surprised how many Cowboy fans live around here.

Cowboy fan since birth... Otherwise, my father would've considered me weak and had me killed.

Although I mostly remember the Danny White era, Staubach's last 4 years are my first football memories. I can still remember him beating the Commanders 35-34 which I believe was his last of many comeback games.

My dad had so much respect for how Staubach carried himself that #12 was and is the only athlete I have idolized.

During the 1-15 season against the only game the Cowboys won that year, the Washington Commanders. I was really young, and used to love playing with the mini Cowboy and Indian toy sets. The Cowboys where always my fav whenever I played with the toys, so naturally when my dad turned the TV onto the Cowboys/Commanders game, I took the Cowboys side and I've been a fanatic ever since.

Sometime around 76-77 I think. I remember it was a Thanksgiving and I got my first look at football (my father was a baseball fan). When I saw a shot of Texas Stadium I was hooked.

I was five years old when the cowboys won the last superbowl and its one of the moments I remember from my early childhood. My dad put both hands up and I was so happy the good guys won!

That was my first game. Guess I was Eight.

Since it was the SB it was a big deal. Must have been a SB party at my Uncle's house. Either way it was the focus of everyone's attention.

My Uncle hated the Boys and wanted Denver to win. My dad who didn't really care told me the Cowboys would win because that Staubach guy was really good.

I had to go with dad and those stars on the helmets were too cool. Been hooked ever since.

Here is my story.

I am not from any where in the US when I became a football fan. I came from Taiwan and when I was in Middle school in Taiwan, The kids there usually loved about the NBA or maybe MLB. They will never heard anything about Football. Nothing about it. But at the time I had read some sports magazines that had some NFL information. I remember that dated from 80'.

The most impressive story from NFL in that magazine is the Chicago Bears and the "Refrigerator" Perry. They won the Super Bowl that year with Jim as the Quarterback. Since then I start to like the American Football.

When I went to the College, 49ers' is very good at the time. One of my best friend in the College has a satellite dish in his home. Sometimes we would watch football game at his home and the first football term I learned is "fumble" because my friend shouted during the game and I don't quite understand what it was during that time.

After college, I came to US for my graduate degree in Dallas, Texas. Now you probably know why I became Dallas Cowboys fan. I came in Dallas at 1994. That is the year they lost in NFC Championship game, I am so upset and sad that I can't speak a word after the game. I also remembered the next year we won the Super Bowl with my girlfriend watching the TV by my side. Now she is my wife. After the win, I watched the coverage all night long. That is a un-forgettable experience.

Now I have a family with 2 kids and live in Minnesota and I have the Sunday Ticket too. Last year we drove all the way from MN to TX for the Thanksgiving game and witnessed Ware's 3 sacks performance.

Sometimes I always told my Taiwannese friends that I probably am the most knowledgeable football guy in Taiwan. LOL

Hope this story interests you. I LOVE FOOTBALL and COWBOYS.

The Ice Bowl, was about 8 years old. Was tired of my brothers going on about Bart Starr and the Packers. Plus the fact that they lost the way they did.
I told them [not knowing what I was really saying at the time] that the Packers will stop winning soon, and the Cowboys will be the team of the future.

Superbowl. I think it was 1978. The steelers were whooping us, even though I was 5 years old, I hated the steelers, and I felt bad for the cowboys.

I haven't missed a game, even preseason since 1980
