When are we going to get a clutch defense ?

Our blitz was very effective on several occasions. What game were you guys watching? Give Eli credit for side-stepping the rush and getting rid of the ball on time. Our rush forced atleast one quick throw which should have been picked.

or if james and glenn catch int's thrown right to them...........

you could say the same for the one's their guys dropped...one should have been an easy length of the field TD too

the one that crayton caught? that was close but didn't hit the guy in the hands and off his chest like bradies' and aaron's

Don't get me wrong, we won this game and the D made some clutch stops holding the G men to field goals inside the 10yrd line. But our pass rush/blitz was not all that effective. We had no sacks and very few pressures on Eli. And when our offense takes the ball all the way down and scores a touchdown with 3 minutes left. The D has got to slam the door. For the Boys to take it all, which is what we all want. Our pass rush has got to get significantly better.

it went right through his hands...

and Romo nearly threw one to Madison in the endzone as well

I usually don't post, in fact this is my first post, but I had to respond to this.

It kills me how some people on here are. Can't we simply enjoy the win? Our defense has played great all year long. They were real good today, especially in the red zone. The last touchdown was simply a great play on their part. Their players are paid to make plays too, and on that play they did. But to expect our defense to consistently stop opposing offenses series in and series out is asking for too much. Especially considering how much they were on the field in the second half today.

I ask you this. Was our defense not clutch against Carolina? Indy?

Don't let them get to you DTK. Some people aren't really fans in my opinion. They are just here to stir people up. They are called trolls, and they exist on every message board.

Welcome........hope you enjoy the board. Please post more.

Well I give you Indy and in return give you the deadskins and the choke job the defense did in that game.

Then we have 1st and 22 and we give up 6 yards then the jacob's jaunt made we want to :puke:

:welcome:

giants are a damn good offensive team ans they were firing on all barrels almost the whole game, we can't expect miracles out of our defense they played well enough for us to win and thats all that matters

Sorry, but the defense was clutch at probably the most important times. That blocked pass to Shockey in the end-zone was about as clutch as you can get.

We have a QB that can bail us out even when having a bad game :banghead::banghead:

When are we going to have the defense step up and be clutch and Henry got beat again:eek:
i think he did pretty good. The D was on the field alot in the 4th. What about stopping Shockey in the endzone? No credit eh? I guess it's "what have you done for me lately?" has become, what have you done on the last drive?

to win a championship you have to have more pressure than that on the QB!

The Giants have a decent offence too you know. This was their season.

........that is right on the mark.........the other team is trying also, they had ljost a bunch in a row, backs against the wall, at home, season on the line

in my mind we took shockey away late in game, which left a Midd-LB'r one on one with Tiki and Jacobs in the middle.........mismatch

wouldve been better with Burnett in the middle there vrs. B James, but maybe it was Burnett taking schockey away?

I didn't think the defense played as well today as they had the previous couple of weeks but the Giant offense was hitting on all cylinders and they've got a lot of weapons on that team.

Thanks for the welcomes. I've been reading this board for a couple of years now and I usually don't post due to time constraints. But it seems like our fans are the worst at getting too high after a win, too low after a loss, or in this instance too critical after a big game. I mean, "you play to win the game", in the immortal words of Herm Edwards. Today, our team just wins the biggest regular season game for us since who knows when, and people are critical of the pass rush, the clutch defense, Juluis, etc. I mean, the game hasn't even been over an hour yet, enjoy the win.

As for me, I'm enjoying a little victory cigar and a little Maker's Mark and Coke. No complaints here.

I would like to see Carpenter replace Singleton who is not getting a pass rush at all. I don't know why Carpenter hasn't sniffed the field yet, but he needs to show something.

We really, really need to start touching the QB more.
It's a problem that has been festering.
Poor Greg Ellis, with all his supposed diminishing skills, was getting sacks this season. Now it seems our only guy capable of sacks is on IR.
