I agree, he is not getting any better. Also it's not like he is a 23 year old player. He is almost as old as Romo now and has the skills of a college freshman. later!

why wait? i would've cut his *** instead of just demoting him

Yes....you cut him. He is NOT a NFL QB! He joins a long list of Matt Leinarts, Tim Tebows, Vince Young, RG3....etc. If you cannot fill in for nothing more than a quarter or 2..you are not a NFL QB. No team with Super Bowl talent would want him...because there season would implode if he was needed for 2 - 3 games. And no team in rebuilding mode would want him...because his inability to play the position would prevent you from developing/analyzing your OL, RB, WR, TE etc....

So he is not a franchise guy, he is not a stop gap, he cannot help a contender....so he has no place in the NFL.

maybe, but not really. we know weeden isn't going to get us many, if any, wins. i'm confident to say moore can do that also. when romo comes back we'll have (4) qb's and as have stated, unless cassel just forgot how to play, someone has to go. i'd rather keep a 3rd stringer w/promise and a 3rd stringer who sucks more than the largest black hole out there in the universe still yet to be discovered.

I agree that Weeden needs to go as soon as we know that there's a better QB on the team. Right now the FO may know, but you or I have no clue.

Yes or No?

I know I do

Yes, because he's no longer needed since Cassel would be the primary backup. The third spot is supposed to be reserved for a developmental prospect and Weeden is not that.

Cut him now. If Cassel bombs can Kellen Moore be any worse than Weeden? We are 0-3 and our O has looked awful.

Weeden should be cut regardless of Cassel's play and Romo's status.

I see no reason to wait until Romo gets back. Kellen Moore knows the offense. I would have cut Weeden on Monday/Tuesday when he started mouthing off about how pissed he was that an intelligently strategic coaching decision was made.

Why exactly wouldn't he be pissed he was demoted?

I'd be more concerned if he was cool with it.

I don't know. Weeden hasn't looked too good. But, I don't think he was as bad as Matty 'Ice' Ryan was last night against the Saints. And Ryan had all his weapons available against a very bad Saints defense. If Julio Jones broke his leg the first game, Ryan and the Falcons are most likely 1-5 instead of 5-1.

Not saying Weeden is in Ryan's ballpark. Just another thing to consider.

I'm more concerned that he actually feels he should still be 1st team. Wal Mart is the only team he needs to be concerned and passionate about at this point.

How can they even justify keeping him now, even with Romo out? He's wasting a roster spot.

The team literally has no chance of winning when he plays QB.

To be honest, we'd probably have a better chance at winning with Mcfadden playing QB in the wildcat.
