When the chance to bury the game is there

Everyone’s been begging them to use Rico at the goal line. They do and since it doesn’t work people hate it.

If it did work everyone would have said they should have been doing it earlier.

The reason they haven’t done much of that is because fades are not Daks forte. If they were Dez would still be here

Enough of this forte crap. Dak needs to be able to do what the market requires if he wants to demand his market share. Dak cant throw and he needs to work on that. Not sure why he didn't put in work for his issues that were obvious last season.

Well seems like he focused on his deep ball accuracy because he’s been dropping dimes when he actually throws it.

Fades are clearly the next phase he needs to work on. Back shoulder throws like Stafford and Wilson have made last two weeks have been pretty to watch

This is Daks 3rd year. What do we get? One improvement per year? We get fades this year and possibly back shoulder fades next year?

That’s what Romo did. Tweaked one part of his mechanics every offseason. Of course that was 5-6 years in the league.

Most QBs between year 1 and 2 have to rework their entire throwing motion for a quicker delivery. I think Dak was more mental year 1-2 to get him comfortable throwing from the pocket.

Throw a jump / fade to Rico geathers ...

“The Brain”
That’s how we did it in Detroit...

Sarcasm? What’s the issue with that play call? You have 6’7 former basketball star Rico Gathers one-on-one in the corner of the end zone.

That should be a touchdown. Dak threw a bullet too high; he should have tried to give his man a chance to bring it down. Could also be that Rico ran the route too shallow.

Fans forget that it took Romo a good 4 years to master the goal line fade, then another year to get it down with Dez after he arrived.

People were out for blood when we tried it with Martellus three times in a row in 2008 and Romo couldn't hit it.

Disclaimer: I'm an unabashed Romo lover, and think we'd be better off with him even right now. But that's nothing against Dak, he just has work to do.

Matchup was correct.
Dak just overthrew the 6’7 TE

I've been pushing for Rico, but I saw 0 route and 0 awareness of how to box out like a WR. It looked bad. Kind of like some of the tape on him blocking, where it looks like he just doesn't get football.

It's a horrible play for us, and despite Rico's size, he isn't enough of a football player yet to even be our best option for that horrible play for us.

I'd like to see more of that push/flip to Austin inside the 10. Give it to him on the move and let his speed carry him into the end zone.

I like Austin between the 20s, but a crowded field goes a long way toward negating speed and making it dangerous for tiny guys to be running the ball.

I'd rather see more read option with Dak and Zeke near the goal line. Maybe something to Olawale.

The route was perfect. That throw requires some finesse. Rico had the defender "boxed out" just like they draw it up in practice. I just wished the play caller would let Rico get a few warm up in game catches to get into the flow of the game.
