When the Cowboys start slow and the excuse is that Dak is just finding his rhythm

I used to think Dak was a slow starter.

Until that shoot out against Tampa Bay two seasons ago when he was returning from a Joe Theisman leg.

Dak is an inconsistent QB though. I'm sure he would admit it too.
Finess continues through a starting quarterback's career. They get better and more successful until physically unable to answer the bell.

Just remember that he was allowed to sit through the preseason.
No excuse should be allowed. Every game in the NFL season is important.
There are 10 or more starting QB's that haven't taken a preseason snap so far this year.

Dak has NEVER had to take a game snap behind the second or third string line, and that's the only reason he's still around.
He should have been drafted by Cleveland so his true abilities would have shown and he'd be out of the NFL by now.
What starting QB's do take snaps behind 2nd & 3rd team O-Lines? lol

You act like that's normal for other starting QB's.

Allowed? I'm sure he'd like to be playing. They will start slow. They should be playing him.

Let's go back to last scenario: the Dallas defense is shutting down the SF offense, that has multiple weapons, only to watch Dak throw 2 bad INT's which cost Dallas the game and a chance for an NFCCG appearance.

That is not an agenda by those who are critical of Dak but rather lifelong Dallas fans tired of the past 27 years of playoff failures expressing their thoughts on the current Dallas QB.....but you and others continue to use your 'safe words' such as hater, troll, agenda member, etc. so as to feel better about defending Dak yet again.
That's moronic. The thread is about Dak starting slow and not playing in the preseason. My particular post was about people secretly or openly rooting against players on the Cowboys because of an agenda they personally have. What does anything you wrote have to do with any of that and where did I say Dak was a great QB or defend his performance last year?

I agree with this. I hate we have starters sit. If a player gets hurt it is what it is. He can get hurt at any time.

Brady played every preseason with belichek. Its a scared loser mentality weve had since parcells left

Actually most teams are playing all of their starters for a series or two.

I look at last years opener against Tampa where we played like crap and then later how much better we played in the playoff game against them.
Dallas has sucked wk 1 well before Dak or McCarthy took over. They have won 2 or 3 wk 1 games going back to 2014.

That's the problem with Dak. He looks great one day and like a scrub the next. Never going to win a Sb with a QB playing that way.

So getting a series or two in a meaningless preseason game against a team playing vanilla defense without a gameplan changes that?
No, but playing a few plays where you're actually in danger of getting hit does simulate real football. Dak is going straight from bubble wrap to shark chum in an instant.

Dak had better get off to a good start, or it's going to get ugly. He's usually pretty good early in the year.

Get use to it. Increase in regular season games and less preseason games. College doesn’t have preseason games. They do just fine.

The snaps he may get in preseason would be made up in about the first half of game one. It's not that big of a deal.

To think 30 snaps from preseason makes all the difference, rather than the hundreds/thousands from OTAs, training camp, practice, etc.

For rookies who aren't used to the speed of the NFL, or the typical game day routine, sure, there's some benefit. But, for veterans? Nah.

Preseason is mostly for coaches to see how a *few* guys handle certain things...and for the NFL to make money.

His injury was 2020, so I think you meant just like in 2021, where he hadn’t played since weak 5 the previous year? And yes he did s*** the bed in a loss to TB when he was stalled and settled for 48 yd field goal? Just like always no one recalls the real story behind these padded stats. He left 1:31 on clock for tb to run the table. Don’t forget last year bc game 1 looked pretty rusty
lol

At least you got the year right. Bravo.

None. But they do take snaps behind the 1st team OL. OL also needs to knock off the rust. Everyone should play a series or three in the preseason.

Just like members have an agenda to defend Dak at all costs; so call out all sides, right?

LOL...anyone that doesnt have short term amnesia is a troll on this board? Rockport, cowboyroy, ken, etc. all expect that we can't remember last year, year before, etc. Problem is my memory is just fine and regardless of what stats say, Dak still isn't the answer, just like last year, and year before, and year when they signed him to this bloated contract that he doesn't deserve. He has overstayed his welcome and true team over player fans all agree that Dak shouldn't be here, no one cares about 10+ wins when you fail to win in post season. thanks for trying to fool real fans into believing we are the problem
