And Romo had a championship caliber def and he still never got us over the hump. Two QBs, same non-deep playoff results.

Btw, I hope you don’t include Tyron Smith as part of the great O-line you mentioned since he hasn’t played a full season in 7 years and the games missed keeps going up every season.
Romo had the same great line in 2014 again the "Dak vs Romo" debate is dumb they are the same QB so far, love/hate one of them I dont care but there is no logic for one being better than the other so far...

Here’s what people who hate Prescott seem to value most:

1)Their number priority seems to be Dallas losing with #4 as the QB1, so their nonstop meowing is somehow validated.
2)The #2 priority seems to be posting negative slants in multiple threads every day. Keeps it “fresh”!
3)A distant third priority is actually hoping Dallas wins, and having a good time, which actually is seen as being “too phony”…

You have a better attitude this season. Very refreshing.
I have seen the light. I now see how blessed we are to have a top 5 franchise quarterback running the show.

I also now realize that Mahomes and Burrows type quarterbacks are impossible to get and the best best is to build around Rayne and finally, finally, give him something to work with here. With the talent level here the last 6 years NO quarterback could have done what Dak has accomplished.

anybody out there that wants to replace Dak doesn’t know anything about football .

come on now most would replace Dak if we could UPGRADE, the problem is the "Replace Dak" crowd has some alarming takes on what would be an upgrade....Cooper Rush is brought up and that makes me think I'm wasting time with whomever I'm talking to. If you have an Upgrade and a legit plan I would be down for it.

Like we’ve not had one season derailed because of a lack of preseason snaps. We don’t start seasons poorly anyway as we are usually 3-1 after the first quarter of the season.

People complain about problems that don’t even exist.
Yeah it's kinda funny the hand wringing over Dak's preseason playing time. In reality he's only had one bad game in a season opener in the last 4 and that was against Tampa last year. The year before he lit Tampa's defense on fire and in 2020, the Covid year he had a decent opener against a very good Rams defense.. and in 2019 he poured gasoline all over the Giants.

Dak's last 4 season openers looked like this:

2019: 405 yards 4 TDs
2020: 266 yards 1 TD
2021: 403 yards 3 TD 1 INT
2022: 134 yards 0TD 1 INT

So in two of the last 4 openers he's gone over 400 yards. The Tampa game we now know he played 3/4 of it with a broken thumb and all of it with practice squad receivers aside from CD. If a persons wants to bang on him for not being able to elevate sub-par receivers I won't argue because that's not who he is at this point. Maybe he never becomes that. Fine.. then hopefully the front office will have sense enough to stop asking him to. Keep him surrounded by legitimate NFL receivers and watch him light up the scoreboard. I'm okay with that but I get why those who are not feel that way. But that's not my problem.

As I write this I am stricken by the fact that arguably his best season opener came in a year when not only did he not play in the preseason, he barely practiced because of the shoulder strain. Maybe McCarthy saw the light from that.

Agree 100%. Look at their stats and their playoff record and you are spot on.

Jerry is the only common denominator the past 28 seasons so the Dak detractors might take a look at the Jerry business model of not empowering the hc since Jimmy left. I hear that makes a big difference lol.

I think we have the right guy in place right now if the rest of the offense will do their jobs.

I like Cooper but I'm not sure if he's even good enough to be a #2 qb so he's not an option IMHO.

In recent days I've had an epiphany and I've been in a state of grace.

That’s because Mahomes and a Rodgers were atrocious last season. They need to get back on track.

Our guy is in the zone and I won’t tolerate him even taking one snap that could put him in harms way…..not on my watch, nephew
Our guy looked great in the last playoff game, only if Pollard wouldn't have gotten hurt.

Part of the desire to see Dak get reps in the preseason is due to Dak coming off a season which he led the NFL in INT's despite missing 5 games as well as MM installing a new offense.

You're being too kind. I would challenge them to walk upright. Question their literacy, eyesight, and whether they are a fan.

I don't mind if people want to support their quarterback. But this cultish fanaticism for this QB just puzzles me. I don't get it. Did Danny White have this kind of cult following? Maybe. No social media back then.

Oh look another anti Dak thread under the auspices that it’s Dak choice he isn’t playing in the preseason. Your criticism or concern should be with the Coach not the player. Some of you are more nauseating than opposing fans because you can’t wait to say I told you so when the Boys lose or Dak has a bad game…which is obviously going to happen. Hopefully not too many times this year.
I am not a dak fan, but I think jones boys decide whether dak plays or not in PS .
I think if mike wants to play certain players he has to clear it with them first.

I think they kept dak from playing in the philly game last year ( the first one) and dak wanted to play and was imo ready, but jones boys
didnt want his first game back to be against phil in phil .
That was a season changer right there.

Maybe...or maybe they were injured because they were playing alongside scrubs and had to play harder to get try to get the job done.

Just a possibility, not making any claims.
well when acl or achilles etc just give out without being hit or badly twisted etc, it is usually imo are already damaged, so just a question of time
and the right circumstance and it gives out.

When QBs like Mahomes and Allen are taking reps during live preseason games, honing their edgeI think it sets an example and tone for their teams…and tells you what kind of players they are; then you have Dallas treating Dak with kid gloves, who will start the season having faced no live action…great call MM/Jerry!
it is all on jerry, and part of the culture he creates. (Soft Country Club, pet players )
Then people wonder why other teams are tougher than cowboys in playoffs.

So jerrys rationale is mahomes is playing (in 2 games!) but his dak toy will not play per jerry.
I think it is risky, but it is good for player to play a little in live action, just play safe.

now the giants only played jones and Off starters for 1 series in 2nd game, and jones was super sharp drove right down 75 yds for a td
and that was it .
Will that make a difference in their game week 1? I dont know, but I think it gives nyg an advantage.

I also think dak is the type qb that needs some reps in PS, which he didnt get.

The giant game will decide all this I guess, if cowboys win and dak looks good, guess they didnt need PS.
If they lose or dak looks off or sloppy etc, then guess they did need PS.

I honestly think it's a response to the criticism. As fans, we should really support our players. Not trash them. But fans do what they do. Even though I'm not a big Dak fan, I don't trash him. He's our quarterback. Even though I don't think he is anywhere near as talented as Romo. Some would disagree, of course. Just like I supported Danny White when Roger retired. This whole, "what has he ever done" is usually coming from fans that never played the game. The same fans that thought deflating a football gave the team an advantage. People that never played the game and just watched.

I guess you missed his entire 2016 rookie preseason when all Dak did was take snaps behind the backup line. Romo didn't get hurt until the end of that preseason.

So the only reason Dak is still around is because he's not getting pounded into submission before he can even step into his throws? Interesting take, I wonder why the Cowboys haven't caught on to this over the past eight years.

I swear you guys will cling to anything to the point you just make stuff up.
“I swear” facts are not your strong suit
