With another team? Reason I ask change of scenery is overrated. If you suck with the Raiders you gonna suck with the Cowboys. I.E. McFadden .

Regarding McFadden, I doubt you see a lot of guys who have been in the league for 5-6 years who had one good year in the past recapture very good performance with a new team.

I am sure there are examples of first rounders who bust out early with their drafted team and have success with other teams. Probably not a ton though. Jerry Hughes didn't do anything in Indy but has turned out to be a pretty good player with Buffalo.

Even though the example in the OP is a fail, it's a fair question.

I don't really know the answer, but it doesn't seem like a lot of guys go to new teams and all of a sudden turn into studs.

Rolando McClain has been good with the Cowboys when healthy.

Jimmy Smith was a 2nd round pick by the Cowboys and they cut him. His accomplishments:
2× Super Bowl champion (XXVII, XXVIII)
5× Pro Bowl selection (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001)
2× Second-team AP All-Pro selection (1998, 1999)
NFL Receptions leader (1999)
Ed Block Courage Award (2001)

Career NFL statistics
Receptions:
862

Receiving yards:
12,287

Touchdowns:
69

I'm certain that there have been several that were cut and had success with other teams.

Marshawn Lynch was obtained for a 4th round pick after being the 12th overall pick by the Bills.

Interestingly enough, that wouldn't bode well for Michael either... a second round pick traded for one of the last picks in the draft. A micrometer above being cut.

You make it sound like he won two SB's after we cut him........

Charles Woodson.

The Raiders didn't like his attitude and questioned his heart playing through injuries and they let him go.

He went on to GB where he played a DPOY level for a good 2-3 year stretch and overall had a huge impact.

Didn't he finish out his rookie contract?

Brett Favre is the most successful player I can think of that fits the OP's criteria.
