I would certainly say the 2004 Patriots overcame alot of adversity on did a whole heck of alot better. I would also say this year's Patriots team has overcome alot of injuries, especially in their secondary and are gonna be a tough team in the playoffs.

Sure we have had our fair share of injuries, but we weren't prepared for the loss along the offensive line that we suffered. Not that there are alot of options out there on the free agent market, but other teams suffer injuries yet find ways to fill the gaps and win superbowls.

OK, this year, is what I was talking about, but look at the Patriots. Early on, they were struggling to stay above .500, and were basically there exclusively because Tom Brady is a freak. Now, they're getting healthy, are playing a pretty easy schedule, and all of a sudden they look like contenders again? You don't think the same would be true here? Look how much better we look with a healthy JJ, if he is healthy.

Certainly the Eagles haven't......

Yes, that certainly has to play into some of BP's decisions.

The type of injuries we've had influences BP's approach. Can you imagine Campo or Switzer coaching this team?

5-11? If we were lucky.

2 wins would be lucky. 5? An act of god.

I think there is a huge disconnect between what people are calling conservative.

For some it is simply the run to pass ratio. For others it might be the way in which a team attacks via the air downfield or the lack of an attack downfield while for others it is when you play not to lose. I am sure there more definitions of conservative football that I did not even mention.

No one is going to complain when you play conservative and win consistently, but when you play not to lose and lose anyway, well dont be surprised when the critics come calling.

Even with a healthy JJ running wild today we were extrememly fortunate to win that game today. Had it not been for the failures of our offensive line allowing 2 blockers through on Cundiff's missed FG that led to a running into the kicker penalty and allowed us to keep the ball we would have lost.

Can you believe that the our poor offensive line actually helped us win a game today.

It also almost cost us a game, with Pettiti's piss-poor pass blocking (that's alliteration, holmes) and a horrible false start on a 3rd and inches QB sneak.

would people stop pointing to youth as the reason for the Cowboys struggles this year. 90% of the rookies are on D, and that is the STRENGTH of the team. The main issue has been offense, and that is where most of the veterans are. Youth hasn't cost us a single game. Bad coaching has cost us plenty.

You don't consider a rookie 6th round pick RT a problem?

How about a 3rd year UFA LT?

I'm not a Parcells fan and I thought the team looked good today. Way to go Bill.

I am not a Parcells hater, but I will criticize him until this team consistently plays well when it counts.
Today's result was good but it took a mistake by the Panthers to open the door for Dallas at the end.
Philly, Giants and Commanders games were not good. I am not gonna sit around and kiss Parcell's behind when his team looks mostly or completely unprepared in games that determine a playoff appearance.
4-3 in the second half of the season isn't terrible but this clearly isn't a team steaming-rolling into the playoffs.
Parcells deserves his share of the blame for this.
Of course, the way things have gone in the league this year Dallas could squeak into the playoffs and go on a tear. I certainly didn't expect the 'skins to turn things around they have the last few games.

I think it is a gross misconception of people that crticize Mr Parcells that they hate him or would like to see him fired. A few may want him fired but I would dare say the percentage of those is very minute.

We have very passionate fans on this forum with many different ideas.....careful.... don't be so quick too judge.

Good criticism has never been harmful to anyone.

I know injuries and inexperience are always going to be part of the equation in some capacity; every season. We will lose key personnel next year for extended periods of time. Count on it.

There will also be a position or two that we get inconsistent or flat out poor play from, and it will drive most of us crazy. Yes, it will happen. This is a certainty. There is no guarantee this club will be knocking on any door next season. Hopefully, that is the case but who the hell knows for sure.

The ultimate question is what we do and how we adjust to these setbacks. Because it's not a matter or if.

Bill Parcells certainly deserves credit for having the troops ready to roll today, but he also deserves a lot of the blame for last week in D.C. These things cut both ways. Goes with the territory. I think we all realize as much.

Absolutely.

But like most things on message boards, it often gets carried to an extreme.

Remember most are just venting........then they calm down and are fine.

Parcells was not his usual stubborn self. When the running game was going so well, he uncharacteristically stuck with it instead of trying to adhere to his internal game plan. Take what the defense gives you; what a novel concept!

9-6. It's a young team.

What does that have to with a team?? that should have won more games and because the coach was playing not to lose is the reason why we lost some of them?
