To all the people who said the NFL had an agenda and wanted to Pats to win:

I hope this Pats loss proves to you that there isn't some big cover-up involving "ESPN and the NFL's hatred for the Cowboys" and their love for the Pats and assistance with overcoming the Spygate scandal.

In fact, things probably could not be worse for the Pats and that game tonight was definitely called in favor of the Giants. The Pats had some ill-timed penalties go against them by a crew that some on this board claimed were going to be completely Pats friendly.

Obviously, it's one thing to come on here and be completely wrong about how a certain player or team will perform...we all do it...but I hope this at least shows you that although refs can clearly miss plays and make huge mistakes, there is no bias significant enough to help a team win a championship and there certainly isn't any pre-determined outcome that the NFL has for its teams.

Paul is that you??

Another thing this does is places more questions on the Pats other SB wins. They beat the Rams, Panthers and Eagles all by 3 points. Then they get caught cheating, there is a story about them cheating before their first SB win, and after all that they lose by 3.

This years' Pats team was IMO much much better than the ones who won Super Bowls. And IMO this years' Giants weren't as good as the Rams that year, and it's debatable whether they were as good as the Eagles. They were probably better than the Panthers.
Poetic justice at its finest.

lol...

but seriously, who was the last team to follow a trip to the super bowl and get back the next year? Was it New England in 2002? Becoming more and more rare.
List of back to back Super Bowl participants

Green Bay 66-67
Dallas 70-71
Miami 71-73
Minnesota 73-74
Pittsburgh 74-75
Dallas 77-78
Pittsburgh 78-79
Washington 82-83
Denver 86-87
San Francisco 88-89
Buffalo 90-93
Dallas 92-93
Green Bay 96-97
Denver 97-98
New England 2003-04

Since the institution of the salary cap in 1994, only 3 teams have made it to back to back SBs. It is something that has proven to be extremely hard to do in a parity driven league

I don't see NE getting back with the current age of their defense. Plus, they really faded down the stretch and they were coming from a ridiculously weak division. There's no way everything will work out again and all their key players will be able to stay completely healthy for an entire season.
