I didnt like the pick at the time, just felt there were better players on the board at that time...

that being said I will be surprised if he dosent become a very good player in Miami for years to come..

I presonally hated the draft, and thought he was just a solid player nothing more nothing less, but their's no need to do this, the damage has been done already, let the man go in peace.

what is more irritating is how insistent some of you were on his talent and his value if witten got hurt...when there of those of us who saw him for what he was....and now won't see him again.

I was pretty unhappy about the Fasano pick as well, but there's no need to be a donkey about it. This is a message board.

I agree...i just remember week after week...game after game....people going on and on about his contributions or the fact that he is a great insurance policy if Witten got hurt....and I just find it ironic that many of those same people are now simply saying "no big loss, move on"

He was a contributor, far more so than you give him credit for. He was also a good insurance policy if Witten had been injured. None of that has changed.

There is no irony in the fact that many of us aren't crying about the loss, because we do have some talent behind him. Whether or not Curtis will become as good a back up as Fasano remains to be seen, but judging form his play last year, we have reason to be excited about it.

...but none of this warrants a thread created solely to call out Fasano's supporters or the player himself. It's childish.

not really...just more things to add to my mental roledex when debating...what cats around here know the game....and what cats around here talk a good game

So, if in some bizarro fashion, Fassano becomes not only a starter in Miami, but pro-bowl bound, does this mean you won't talk to yourself anymore???

Just askin' . . . .

I have no problem saying I liked the kid, think he is very talented, and I hope he does well in Miami. He was not a great blocker, but I am sure BP will fix that, and you may see a different player if he gets the majority of snaps. I liked the pick then and still have no problem with it. We are lucky to have Witten. But trashing the pick and the guy is not going to change anything...

Fasano getting traded doesn't really prove anything about his ability. we have Witten so he was never going to get his shot here, good luck to him in Miami. what a waste of a 2nd round pick it was for us
:hammer:

The Fasano pick wasn't glamorous but was a solid pick. Fasano did what he was supposed to do. Do you think he was going to take a significant amount of throws from Witten? He was a blocking TE on a 2 TE offense who caught the ball pretty well. He'll be solid and likely unspectatular for the Fins. In other words he'll likely do his job. We got a 4th out of him after two years of solid play. We don't run that offense anymore. Dallas did a good job of finding a team that can use him and essentially got a third for him. Great job, Jerry!
