See, this is why I don't get why all the media loved Merriman so much. Instead of criticizing him for the roids, they were all saying "look how well he did in just twelve games!"

Hello! Wasn't it obvious that it was because of the steroids? Like the advantages they gave him went away if 4 weeks? Please. I'm glad he's having an average year.

It's the same with other players. McNabb says what he said earlier this week and the media goes "Well, yeah, he's right." They'd be attacking any other player if they had said the same thing.

I wish all we had were solid, unbiased reporters. Reporters.

I think Merriman's numbers have a lot more to do with Wade Phillips' absence than with the steriods.

Let's not forget that he was still a holy terror all season after his suspension. The guy is a pass rushing beast who is still a huge hitter and a feared player.

I wouldn't jump to singling him out as inferior to Ware unless you're also going to look at the tremendous downswing in Rivers and LT from last year as well. No one's saying LT isn't a great RB just because his numbers are way down this year.

Ware and Merriman are both great players, and I'll bet you Wade would trade Ellis, Spencer, and Carpenter for Merriman today.

I thought Merriman was better than Ware until I heard he was a cheater on roids, maybe the Pats will sign Merriman someday if he becomes a FA, they'd be a match made in cheater's paradise!

By the playoffs it was clear that Merriman was shrinking and had lost muscle. This year that has been very clear. He is nowhere near the beast he was when he was juiced up.

San Diego and Merriman get gashed for nearly 300 yds by a rookie RB, the same RB Ware and the Cowboys held to 60-some yds the previous game. Ware has 7 sacks, Merriman 5.5. Merriman looks very average now that he's off the juice, playing outside of Wade's attacking style, and not having the advantage of a great offense that builds leads that let you tee off on the QB.

Funny cause if go over to chargers.com to there boards , alot of members are sayin the same thing about meriroids.. that hes not the same since being on the juice..

Yep, he pretty much sucks without roids. Gotta give credit to Ware for being great, and organic!:)
