Where are the takeaways and sacks?

When the officials continue to let blatant chokehold holding occur on your defensive lineman it's hard to get pressure and in turn without pressure it's hard to get turnovers.
The officials use holding calls to continually stop our drives and extend our oppositions works like clockwork

Maybe they wouldn't be in a chokehold if they hadn't used a rip move to get there, lol.

So when we were getting great pressure and sacks earlier in the year the officials saw and decided that they'd seen enough and THEN decided to go all 'spiracy on us? I thought 'spiracy was always the case. I'm confused.

It's December. The defense is good up until November. It's been like that for years now.
Said this earlier in the season.

The defense is basically the same as it was in 2021 and 2022. Splash plays early, falters down the stretch. But somehow we have less play-makers now than we did then.

At least they played well in the playoffs last year.

This is what happens when you play against good offenses and don't get a lead.

1. When you play a LB at DE to make him happy, teams run and that negates sacks

2. Defense is about discipline, gap control, intensity and sure tackling. TOs are hit or miss. A defense that relies on TOs cannot play consistent winning football against the top teams

Its not complicated
Not a secret
You are 100% correct! The Cowboys never seem to play disciplined football. Watching the Ravens defense against Purdy and they played zone and every one of those players in the secondary was watching Purdy. They showed that on film and even though it looked like there were big holes in their zone they would close quickly because of the players watching him. One defensive play I saw with the 49ers the Ravens threw a flanker screen but the minute Jackson turned and his arm went back you could see one of the DBs pointing that direction and they closed so fast on the screen the ravens lost yardage. Dallas seems to struggle to play with any consistency on both sides of the ball in tougher matchups.

I think the first things teams consider when facing the Cowboys is how to get the ball out quicker. I still see Micah winning a lot but the balls gone by the time he gets home. It would be nice to see our DB’s not giving 10 yard cushions to counter the quick hitters by the offense.

It might have something to do with the holding that isn't being called.
Nah.. Cowboys defenders are never held.. all those pictures and videos you see depicting them being held are CGI. Never happened in the game or it would have been called. I mean don't the announcers tell us every time they throw the flag against our guys that "the officials are gonna call that every time when they see XYZ?" So that must mean our guys simply are not being held.. Right?

The Cowboys are built to score first and then pass rush the opposing team to death while they're playing catch up. If Dallas is up a couple scores early, it's tough sledding for the opposition. That's when Micah, the other pass rushers, and the guys like Bland can shine.

The Bills, Seahawks and Fins didn't let that happen.

This defense needs legit DTs and an MLB.

Tough to get sacks when the DL is getting held consistently. Normally, I wouldn't complain about refs. But it's getting ridiculous.

You could be right, I might be thinking of a later Vikings DLine that was considered small. Didn't they also go by that nickname when John Randle was there?
I think it was from the 70's.

There was a famous line from a Raiders player after they beat Minnesota in the SB.

"I guess the purple people eaters were on a diet today."

But regardless, they were an elite group.

It really comes down to scheme. We have the players to get after the QB. DQ needs to do a better job watching tape and offensive tendencies instead of marching out the same poop against good teams.

I don't know where they went but I could tell you this I told people a month ago this defense was very average without getting turnovers and I was told that it was part of their DNA and that I was ignorant for saying that and I said that they're not a good defense unless they get a lot of sacks and turnovers they don't make a lot of stops they give up a lot of long time of possession eating drives that lead to a lot of field goals and sometimes touchdowns they get walked down the field pretty easily that's why close games scare me now just like Prescott got them the lead and they couldn't hold it...

I mean if you look at how the Seattle Seahawks game went that's how I see this defense if they're not getting turnovers we're gonna lose any resemblance of a consistent defense and we're gonna have to score a lot of points to win a game... It used to be if you can get the to 20 points first you should win a game any good defense should be able to hold a team under 20 points but that's not the case right now because if it were we'd have won the Miami game all they had to do is make one last stop and they didn't do it... This is a boom or bust Ben don't break opportunistic defense and lately it's been breaking more than it's been stopping...

Small quick DLines get owned in the playoffs. That's why the Purple People Eaters never won one. Den had the same for a while, same results.
The small dlines don't have another notch to crank it up to for the playoffs even if they're not ground down. The bigger lines do.

You see the Buffalo game mate? Refs called a fumble that should have been reviewed Buffalo ball with conviction!!!
I think you're getting your games mixed up. Buffalo fumbled, it wasn't noticed and McCarthy didn't challenge so it definitely would have been reviewed.
