Maybe Kellen Moore isn’t interested in being a head guy yet?

He’s probably a multi multi millionaire already after playing NFL QB.

Also, he may just have a good time coordinating and calling plays without all of the extra responsibility a HC has.

Im probably just wishful thinking but there has to be some benefits to just staying in his current role.

Dallas can’t lose him though at this point. The Cowboys preach continuity… That leaves if Kellen does.
I know a lot of people don't like Jerry, but IMO if Jerry like Kellen half as much as this board does, Moore isn't going anywhere.

Moore had an opportunity at what many thought was a "dream job" for him (Bosie St HC) and instead he signed a multi-year deal to stay on in Dallas. So it doesn't seem like he is in a hurry to be a Head Coach. Maybe that changes with a NFL team but maybe it doesn't.

On top of that, I think Jerry could easily throw more money and maybe a promise of being a Top Candidate to replace McCarthy when he is gone. Whether it is this year or 5 years from now.

If the Cowboys want Moore, I think the Cowboys keep him around.

What coach starts a season with 4 games in a row with bone head decisions?
Which basically picked up where he left off last year.

So far the team has been able to overcome his boneheaded decisions but we all get the feel it’s going to cost us at some point.

Garrett..oh wait, he is gone.

Not saying he doesn't make bone headed decisions. Just saying coaches make mistakes all the time. The team just needs to be good enough to overcome them.
He frustrates me at times as well. But the only ones I really had an issue with was the 3rd and 12 situation. And using the challenge flag, if they were going to use a time out anyway.

Neither one ended up being critical. But in a closer game they could have been. He needs to improve for sure.

I 100% agree.

Jerry has got coordinators to stay before when offered a head coaching job.

He’s not going to let another Sean Payton walk out the door. That decision cost us 10 years of Garrett.

Garret is always playing checkers while others are playing chess. Guy never learned to be flexible nor surprising. Cookie cutter is all he can manage.

it is actually good McCarthy does so little and let’s his star OC and DC do their jobs. He should delegate time management and only offer advice during play and not orders.

I think it’s possible since we appear to finally have a defense that this team might could have success under many different HC’s. It’s currently overcoming some of the most boneheaded decisions we’ve seen probably in Cowboys history.

That’s assuming of course Moore wants to stay.

Oh you like how he puts that weekly schedule together or something?:lmao2:
Yeah, No

-Adjustments
-Team being prepared to play
-Winning with several backups playing important positions
-Winning games we routinely lost under the previous regime

Now go ahead and say thats all Kellen Moore, so I can laugh at you some more

I think it’s pretty clear he does. Especially after turning down Boise state.
Turning down Boise St is not like turning down a NFL team, especially if it’s a situation he could be looking for. That Boise St job will always be there if he wants it.

Also the team has great camaraderie. They all are happy for each other. No one player feels above any other players. They are a team.
So give that credit to the coaching staff as well.

You listen to the post game PC's, the players all praise each other as well as the coaches.
They clearly love and care for each other. I love this team. Plus the haters are on the verge of a stroke.

He’s been hands off on those things.. Kellen Moore and Dan Quinn run their side of the ball.

“Teams being prepared to play”.”Adjustments.” Such a fan thing to say.

McCarthy is bad. Everyone knows it.

Mike McCarthy has been rightly criticized (in my opinion) for some of his in-game management issues. It’s still a concern for me. BUT- I also believe in giving credit where credit is due as well.

Here’s where Big Mac and his staff deserve a ton of credit through 4 games:
  1. Next Man Up working- Unlike the previous coaching staff of the Clapper, this staff has proven that you can still play well and win some games with several starters out. Under Garrett, the loss of a starter- on either side of the ball- was practically a guaranteed loss. Followed by excuses. This staff should be commended for making “next man up” mean something.
  2. This staff uses the whole roster. I’ve been so impressed with the use of lots of players in creative ways. Some examples:
    • Tony Pollard- getting 12-15 touches a game as opposed to 2-5 under Garrett. Gives the running game more punch and preserves Zeke more.
    • Using Micah Parsons all over the field and in different positions besides LB.
    • Connor McGovern being used as a fullback. McGovern is being used on the OL and the backfield.
  3. Players are being developed- Its great to see young players being patiently coached and developed. Examples:
    • Terrance Steele- what a difference a year makes. This guy is at least an excellent swing T now. Maybe even a future starter.
    • Cedric Wilson- in his fourth season, he has become more than a just a backup WR. He’s provided some excellent plays.
    • This list could go on and on.
Mike McCarthy and his staff deserve some credit. This is a much better team because of some coaching and development. Would this have happened under Garrett? Hahaha! It’s early, but some credit is deserved.
