Where do most of you see Henson getting a new start?

I have been thinking just what team he could go to that would be a good fit for him. Would it need to be a team looking to develop a starting QB in the next year or two, or should it be a team just looking for some depth? Just looking at various teams and what they currrently have I think the Lions might be the best place for him. Martz as OC, good young talent at most skill positions, Kitna won't be around forever, plus he would be back in MI. What are your HONEST thoughts? Pleae don't try the "Henson sucks/bust" angle just to be a smart arse. If you think this and think he will never pan out then this thread and question are probably not meant for you to begin with. Of course you are entitled to your opinion never-the-less.

I would say San Fran...I know they have a young QB already....I just say there because Norv is there and I like to see what his thoughts are and what he could do.

I have thought about those teams as well. He certainly does not seem to fit the Raiders image, plus they seem to be pretty high on Andrew Walters. The Chiefs just drafted Brodie Croyle this year, so who knows if they would be in the market?

I think it is unlikely that a guy in his position will earn a 2nd chance with any team. Not because he sucks, but because he is an unknown. After being completely away from football for 3 years and now as a backup in the NFL for what will be his 3rd year this season, there is just not enough information for another team to go off of.

Romo is starting to show something, but he would have a difficult time earning a chance with another team because he is somewhat of an unknown as well. I think most teams would rather take their chances in the draft over a guy that has been in the league for a few years, but has no real experience.

If there is a chance, it will be teams like Detroit as you mentioned. A team with a veteran starter, but one that only has a couple of years left. KC and Minnesota are in similar situations. Dallas is in a similar situation as well if Romo doesn't pan out or cannot be re-signed. I still see Detroit, KC and Minnesota utilizing the draft to find their QB of the future.

Don't forget Minnesota just toook that Tavaris Jackson (spelling?) this year and they seem fairly high on him.

croyle has injury concerns, I like the raiders because randy moss would be good for henson to have.

Yeah as a Vols fan I am well aware of those, but I like Croyle. He has moxie.

i'd hate to lose him. i'd try to keep him and give him a chance to compete with romo once bledsoe leaves. it's hard enough to find decent talent at the position. i would again send him to europe next year for more seasoning.

Based on Mosley's blog, it sounds like Henson does not want to be here much longer to try to beat out Romo, nor the Europe thing again.

Henson trade???

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has always been Drew Henson's biggest advocate. Well, last week was the first time I heard Jones pretty much rule Henson out of the club's future.
He quickly followed by saying Henson has a chance of starting somewhere else in the league someday.
That's evidence that the Cowboys and Henson are trying to plan an exit strategy. The problem, as our in-house capologist, Todd Archer, has pointed out several times is that the Cowboys will take a significant salary cap hit ($3 mil) if Henson is released.

I've come to know Henson pretty well over the past three years and can tell you that he is desperate for a fresh start. With rookie Matt Baker currently taking almost all his snaps, Henson's about to ask for a trade.
This was a Jerry Jones venture from the start, and I'm not sure Bill Parcells was ever on board. Some of you are wondering why we're spending so much time on a third-string quarterback. It's because the Cowboys gave up a third-round draft pick and made a significant financial investment in Henson.
He has the talent to play in this league, but I'm more convinced than ever that it won't be here.

It makes sense for Dallas to keep Henson for at least this year. If Dallas or any team is down to the 3rd stringer playing, it is not a good thing anway. Baker could easily be placed on the PS.

Henson is untradeable. This groin thing with Vanderjadt may have sealed his fate because we may have to go with 2 kickers. I really think we'll end up going with 2 QB's this year.

trade henson to the bills, they seem to give us good trades every couple of years...

Whether cut or traded where is the BEST fit for him with a new club?

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to do anything at all with Henson.

He's 3rd string and he's signed for what...5 more years.

Let him stay 3rd...Work with him to improve whatever needs to be fixed and give him time.

Now if Henson really wants out to get a fresh start...And I wouldn't blame him...then that's another story.

Nobody is deperate to trade Henson. I know I am not. I have been in his corner the whole time. But if you read the blog by Matt Mosley you will see it seems Henson is eager to get himself traded.

Buffalo wanted him when Henson was up for grabs from Houston. That's a situation where Henson would have the best chance he could ask for to win a starting position.

Second best situation is Detroit with Martz' offense.
