The NFL is about processing speed. You have a starters which are quick (some better than most). A backup, a tad slower, and sometimes way slow. And a third stringer that takes forever to compute. That’s Will Grier.

Everyone is saying we need to draft a young QB but don't we already have one on the roster?

Where does He rank amongst the QBs in this draft class?

I am a big believer in drafting a QB and having Him sit which is where the Cowboys are at with Will

Where does everyone stand with Him? I am hopeful

Grier was horrible in Carolina when he got playing time there. He's more gifted physically than Cooper Rush but he takes far too many chances with the ball and is very raw in all facets of the game.

The Cowboys snuck him back and forth through waivers three times in September and no team put in a claim. I think that sums it up.
31 teams passed on Purdy as well through 7 rounds.

Let's stop with all the Dollar General QBs and let's get one from Saks fifth. 1st round QB, that's it.
That sounds good until you remember that the idiot GM wanted to draft Johnny Manzel and Paxton Lynch in the 1st round.

What is it with this fan base and the desire to score on a late draft pick at QB? There is no need to overthink it, hire good coaching and get a blue chip first rounded and make a go of it.
He was a 3rd Rd pick . . . You wanna spend a 1st . . . Who will it be? Is there a late 1st Rd QB with potential in this draft?

All I am saying Will could be a bridge until we draft one . . . because I feel next year will be an open competition at the position and Will is intriguing

Everyone talks about an arm/brain with a QB but the most important thing is instincts. If you have the quick instincts is my number 1 in a QB.

Can he really be any worse than the guy given the starting job?

Not sure, but this should be the plan going forward. If no one is there, wait until next year or draft one in the second and hope he's a gem.
Again this is sound logic . . But who?. . . Anyone? Just because?

I am asking from total ignorance . . How is this draft class? . . . Besides there are a bunch of former 1st Rd picks bouncing around the league that are coming into their prime

One thought I had today was would you trade a 2 to the 49ers for Lance? 2nd or lower. We always gamble with the 2nd round anyway.

Or when the 49ers cut Jimmy G I would try and sign him if we can swing it cap wise. Jimmy probably would be out of our price range but I can dream. He would be more than an adequate backup and give us a real QB to play if we have to bench Dak cuz of interceptions.
