Martz threw another solid game plan against us and the Lions executed very well.

But even the best teams don't have everything working every week. This was just one of those weeks we had to outscore our mistakes. And we did. We dug deep and got it done.

I love how this team has responded with its back against the wall. Great day!

Last week they made 8 rushing attempts. That's not because it wasn't working, it's because they rarely run. They gave up on it too quickly. That's Detroit's MO ala Martz to which he even admitted to it.

On a side bar: A couple of you need to knock off the name calling.

On the nose. With it all. Thank God Martz fell back into old habits and we got pressure on them just in time.

Uh... yeah, well it's hard for ANY team (except the Vikings) to rush when you're down big, didn't think I'd have to explain that too. But hey, I know many of you enjoy any opportunity to prove your intellectual superiority over another Cowboy fan, so have at it. I'm sure it'll give you a bigger ***** in the morning.

Very pleasant end there. You realize that when you resort to namecalling youve lost right? I dont have to prove my mental capacity to anyone, I just act like i act. If you feel threatened by that then so be it.

As WG mentioned, they only attempted 8 rushes last week which is absurd. Mike Martz has even talked about how he was giving up on the run too much and pputting too much pressure on the Oline.

Really man, youre just wrong, deal with it.

Alright, well then truce. I'm explaing that I was being sarcastic, and that our defense played poorly for most of today while our offense played well, yet again. That's it.

I'm waiting for the thread that says we're the worst 12-1 team in history.

In the past three weeks, we've seen three teams come after the Pats and it took miracle collapses by those teams for the Pats to overcome. Sounds alot like what Dallas did today.

No question.

However, like Norm pointed out on the radio, this defense is going to end up with about 350 points given up-- that's just too much.

Also, you can dissect the stats as much as you want, but the bottom line is that we gave up 27 points to Detroit's offense 1 week after we made Aaron Rodgers look like an all-star balla.

I think it's quite appropriate to say that this isn't a problem that we can hide under the rug.
while this is'nt "technically" last years defense...the cracks are there...i believe that both Henry and Newman are still hobbled...every team that comes at Dallas knows that they will need to pass the ball, especially if they fall behind...these guys are having to defend too many snaps considering the condition they are in...

If someone had told me before this game that Dallas would have no sacks on Kitna i would've called them a liar...a forgettable performance all-around...no pressure, no coverage, no intensity...with an NFC East championship on the line, they had "enough" tenacity on offense to pull it off but this team will not be unchallenged in the playoffs...

Considering the last couple of weeks and the 10 day layoff after the GB win, i'll toss this one onto the "trap" heap...but the Dallas secondary looked tired today and that was after extra rest...they looked flat, unprepared and outcoached...i did'nt expect that from the defense after all the talk this past week...but i guess talk is cheap, as they say...

Dallas must now give serious thought to the secondary in the upcoming draft...Henry is not a good healer and Reeves is'nt exactly a cover-corner, if there is such a thing...Dallas may not have the luxury of bringing along project players...it may be time to bring in an immediate impact player at defensive back...

All that said...congrats to the 12-1 Cowboys...NFC East Champions 2007!

Dude, you need to chill with the namecalling. I love your intensity but you come off a lot less intelligent when you start calling everyone an idiot.

cosigned.

You guys sound like the guys on sporting news radio right now.

The two guys on there wont shut up about dallas, calling us a smoke and mirrors defense with no good players in the secondary and very lucky.

Its insanity. Obviously we expected the lions to spread us out and throw it all over, they didnt and they gained momentum running it.

At the end of the day, just like the packers and Commanders games, we forced them to kick two field goals in the redzone and because of that we beat them.

I think this team is going to have a hard time getting pumped up in the next few weeks. If we beat philly next week we will basically have home field wrapped up, yes I am going out on a limb and saying we are better than carolina!!!

anyway, we are 12-1 and the team was caught by suprise early in the game by there running effort. But they made the critical stops in the 2nd half and we won the game.

EXCELLENT Quote. Our D isn't as bad as some would say here. Kitna had a good game against us and that spread us out. It truly amazed that he didn't get picked. Jason Campbell had a great game against us too. Detroit played way above their norm. But the key is that we hung in there as a team and still believed we could win.

Ellis was credited with one sack against the Lions.

Kitna had a good game against us

Kitna completed 61 percent of his passes, averaged 6.9 yards per attempt and had an 81.7 passer rating.

Coming into the game, he was completing 66.3 percent of his passes, averaging 7.6 yards per attempt and had an 89.0 rating.

He had an OK game, but it was below-average for him in almost every statistic, even without a lot of pressure.
