Danny White One of the All-time greats. Any other franchise would adore him for his 3 straight NFC Championship games, but he followed the great Roger Staubach, See how Romo is adored being that he was great, but only won one playoff game? why not give that same level of respect to Danny.....he has earned it !!

Wait a second....are you telling us the team was "demoralized" by TONY? Or just by EVERYthing in general? Including defense folding like a cheap lawn chair?

How many times did you expect a miracle from Tony? How many comebacks per game? Sooner later the law of averages come in no matter how much of a comeback kid you are.
gotta appreciate you as you are certainly a man on a mission when it comes to Romo defense

Great post brother and all true in Rogers day Tom Landry was the last word he instilled discipline from a military background Roger Staubach followed suit and made his players believe in the clutch that their best efforts would never go to waste .

Roger would never put himself or his statistics ahead of team success

His teammates admired him to a level that I don't think any other player in cowboys history has ever achieved they would walk through the fire and play way over their heads for him
Awesome observation, I disagree with your opinion of Romo, but this is an excellent response to anyone who wonders why Staubach is universally regarded as the best Cowboys Qb.

You can waste your time and continue this crusade. You can go on for a hundred more pages.

But trust me in the end Roger Staubach will still have all the respect all the accolades all the super bowl rings.

Tony Romo will still have what he's earned a good job in the broadcasting booth.
Romo better pray Dak never wins a SB because he'll be wished to the corn fields, never to return.

The smarter here know that Romo is high up the leader list in all-time 4th quarter NFL comebacks, ranking #21st.

But let's investigate that ranking with greater insight. Romo simply didn't play as many games as guys at the very top of the list. Coming from a small college, he didn't get a shot at starting for Dallas until his third year. And then with his back injuries, Tony's career was cut short.

How about we look at a more revealing number. On a per-game basis which QBs in NFL history were most likely to deliver a 4th quarter comeback?

In this thread I'll also explore how many fields Romo has enjoyed success: Football, Golf, Broadcasting, Commercials, Family, Predictor, Bailer-out-ofJerry, and Funny Guy. And yes, we'll even hear from an NBA player who competed with Tony and seriously thought Romo could have had a career in the NBA!

As we all know Romo never achieved success as a field goal holder. And some reports are that he's not always great at some community park pastimes. If you want to be small and focus on that...you go for it! ;)

Next up...the numbers: Captain Comeback.
with Romo, I always felt we were in the game and could come back. Down 2 scores with Dak, i'm biting my nails.

Hey even if Dak gets us to a super bowl that will be a heck of a lot further than anyone else has taken us in a long time.

All we can say is that Dak is still playing so there is always a chance for him to be able to do something special

even if Dak gets us to a super bowl
This is exactly the kind of flawed thinking I'm trying to expose.

A quarterback doesn't get his team to the Super Bowl. Certainly not without sufficient surrounding pieces. Dak was playing handcuffed vs. the 49ers in the recent playoffs. Only 1 legit wide receiver, and then Pollard goes down. Combine that with an inferior head coach.

It's only flawed thinking in your opinion because Romo couldn't do it.

The rest of the football watching world understands how much the quarterback impacts a game and knows that he can greatly influence the outcome of games with outstanding play.

At least our inferior coach has won a super bowl and has a clue how to get there

It's flawed thinking because it's STUUUUUUUPID. Irrational.

This is playoff Roger Staubach without a top roster around him:
Washington 26
Cowboys 3
Dec 31, 1972

This is playoff Troy Aikman without a top roster and coach:
Vikings 27
Cowboys 10
Jan 9, 2000

Utterly crushed and embarrassed.

Roger could only win 3 of 8 playoff games when his defense gave up 14 or more. Some people have zero capacity to learn anything.

Some are incapable of simple concepts, so I'll try dishing baby food.

-A quarterback is not on the field during defensive and special teams play. That puts the first ceiling on his impact. He's only on the field about 45% of the time.
-When the QB is on the field he hands off 40-60% of the time. That takes his potential impact down to around 25%
-On passing plays a QB relies on his offensive line to block or he can't pass effectively. That takes his impact down to approx 15%
-Finally he needs talented receivers who get open and reliably catch the ball. A QB's impact is now maybe 10% over the final outcome.

Yes, of course a quarterback has way, way more impact than other players, but it's still just on the order of 8-10% of total impact over a game.

If simple logic, baby math is too much for some...oh well. We march on.

By the hopelessly disfigured logic of some here:
Trent Dilfer is a better QB than Marino, Jim Kelly, Dan Fouts, Warren Moon and Tarkenton

After all...Dilfer won a Super Bowl, the others didn't.

So Stuuuuuupid.

The mighty Joe Montana and his Super Bowl rings?

Consider the ranking of his defenses in his Super Bowl years!
1989: 3rd
1988: 8th
1984: 1st
1981: 2nd

Oh, and HOF head coach, HOF Jerry Rice, repeat pro bowlers Roger Craig, John Taylor...

That, and Montana enjoyed five different pro bowl o-lineman protecting him in his career.

Danny don’t get a quarter of the bandwidth that your useless hero receives

And I’m not interested in erasing Romo he has his place in cowboys history

Now the takes of his over the top ridiculous fans such as yourself that’s another story :lmao: :lmao:
