Yep, if we lose all of these "Giants are trash" posts will turn into "well they are a SB winning veteran team that just got off to a bad start"................................you know its coming.

If Giants win, I will expect to read things like....

Not used to playing in cold weather
Its hard to beat the Giants AND the refs
We have too many injuries
The one bad call really cost us the game
Giants are paying off the officials

Think our only real competition for a WC spot will be CAR and GB once Rodgers is back. SF looks shockingly weak on O, CHI's D blows for a change, ARI I can't take seriously (Palmer has a lower passing rating than E.J. Manuel and Jason Campbell), same with NYG.

Relying on the results of one game shows the flaw in your rankings.
One game huh?

After 10 games, the Cowboys have a historically bad defense. They are on pace to break NFL records for horrific defense....after 10 games.

All the teams bolded you could also make a case for being worse than the Cowboys. Lions should have lost to us.. Bears look just as inconsistent as us...We beat the Eagles with relative ease...Giants in my opinion have looked bad in every game they have played, even the wiins.

That's why I said "probably" and not "definitely". That being said, with the state of the Cowboys today, I doubt we beat any of these teams. The good news is that the team we most likely CAN beat is the Giants. The Eagles are playing the best football in the division, for what it's worth.

As for the Lions, I hate woulda, shoulda, coulda. They beat us, pure and simple. As the Cowboys were playing better football a month ago than today.

Nothing to discuss you're spot on! Pretty funny philly and giants got a free pass with gb and we dont lol. Arod will play and take us down.

Even if Rodgers is still out, with our defense, Scott Tolzien will have his "Matt Flynn" game against us.

I think this entire discussion needs to be in context with injuries. We are missing a lot of key guys right now. Eventually, we will be getting some of those guys back.

If we can just tread some water, we can still close strong. That's going to be key for us.

Which team isnt suffering injuries? Thats not an excuse.

On topic: 49ers are a lock for wild card spot, the other one will be either Saints or Panthers. I have zero faith in beating them, maybe we can beat the Panthers if Cam has a bad day, but thats it. The conference is too strong right now for our level.

No, that's not an excuse clearly. We fired a DC just last year because it's not an excuse.

Nice.

The only correction I would like to make to this thread is, Michael Vick actually started the game the Giants played against the Eagles, not Barkley. I know Vick wasn't 100% but he couldn't do anything against the Giants so they put in Barkley.

And I'll wait until after Sunday before I decide if the Giants are back for real or better than the Cowboys.

I get what you are saying and I concur. But, increasingly, I find myself thinking that this year is just a bad dream and all I can think of now, as we cruise to self-destruction with a bad game plan and horrific defense, is a good draft and maybe Jerra taking an extended leaf while saner minds rebuild this team.
The terrible financial constraints put on this team for the likes of Romo, Ratliff, Spencer (it all adds up) plus the injury prone Lee and Ware is a byproduct of Jerra's sunshiny mind that rewards mediocrity and lackluster play and punishes youth and potential.

Yeth, we can tread water but ultimately we will sink this year thanks to jerra and his milquetoast team of coaches and players.
I don't hold out for Jimma's return as HC (no way, no day) but If he could come in for a year as a consult to wright the ship I wold be udderly happy and stuff.

I think we stand about .500 in the NFC and masters of our own destiny. We can win enough to make the playoffs as wnners of the NFC East or we could lose and waste away what was a first place standing in NFC East to miss the playoffs.

Doesn't matter wins are wins. Four in a row in this league is getting it done.

Wins are wins, and 5 > 4 last time I checked. To me, I would put Seattle, New orleans, and carolina in the first group, the 49ers, Lions, and probably Bears in the 2nd, the Eagles, Packers, and cardinals in the 3rd, and then the rest in the last group.

Teams clearly better than the Cowboys:

Saints
49ers
Seahawks

Teams probably better than the Cowboys:

Panthers
Giants
Eagles
Lions
Bears

Teams arguably better than the Cowboys:

Cardinals
Packers (will move up when Rodgers returns)

Teams worse than the Cowboys:

Rams
Commanders
Viking
Bucs
Falcons

Discuss.

I would move up Lions, Bears, Packers, Eagles and Panthers as definitely better than we are today. Agree with the rest.

I agree with the niners, Hawks, saints. When Rodgers returns ever the packers.

I'll give you 2 out of the second list. Not sure which 2. And, We aren't clearly above any of them....

Cardinals, are probably just as good.

So. We have at least 5, maybe 6 teams CLEARLY better then us, and maybe, 6 to 7 teams just as good if not better then us...

It's all about December and January in the NFL.

We just cant compete with the top 5 probably 6 teams in the NFC .........we cant.

Other teams have injuries too, we cant use that excuse IMHO.

Losing the "NFC LEAST" after being in first place the majority of the season will be one of the biggest choke jobs in the history of this franchise. This division is not going to be this historically bad again for a long time and if we cant win it under those conditions...............................WOW.

So a loss on Sunday is basically Garrett losing to an inferior team then.

Will be just more proof that he needs to go.

I just don't how Jason Garrett can keep his job if he cannot win this pathetic division.

It's all there for the Cowboys to go get it. If they don't, then Garrett has to go.

I am starting to think, that's our only chance with this group and the window is one maybe two years. And JJ will have to bring in a BIG Name guy.......who will run things the way he wants no matter what JJ says....
