Where would be a good place for training camp?

Just something I was kicking around in my head...

Say you could pick a perfect location for training camp. Where would it be? (Besides your hometown. ;))

My thoughts are that the perfect place would be somewhere in the region with decent weather and, preferably, in a smaller city so the guys can focus on football -- like teams used to do it.

Maybe somewhere in northern Arkansas? There's the Jerry connection, of course, and that is Cowboys country. But that might be too humid. There might not be any town big enough to handle the media that cover this team, either.

What about El Paso? Not a small town, but it's great Cowboys country that could attract people from west Texas, New Mexico and maybe even Arizona. But it's probably too hot, even at altitude. And Juarez might be too close.:

(BTW, I think it's good for the guys to practice in hot weather, but that doesn't seem to be the conventional wisdom today. Oh well.)

Here's what I was thinking -- how about somewhere in northern New Mexico? That's still Cowboys country, and you could find a place in the Rockies with some nice cool weather -- probably not much warmer than what Oxnard is. And then Chief and ABQ and maybe even Hos could go. :D

Any ideas? Just something to pass the time until next week when we get some real news. And something about going halfway across the country to California just doesn't seem right.

in my backyard
my mom could serve water between drills.

Where they go now has perfect weather, what more can you ask? It's about what's best for the team getting ready for the season, not the wishes of the fans.

They ought to do a service to their fans elsewhere in the country and hold camp here in Virginia where Dallas has it's largest fanbase outside of Texas.

Just look at how many of us on this forum are Virginians. And most of us will rarely (if ever) get to see our Boys somewhere other than Fed Ex Field. (and RFK)

We loyally represent the Cowboys all year, every year right here in Skins country and yet never get any kind of recognition or nod our way. It would be nice.

Year before last, the Fox Pregame show focused on bunch of fans celebrating outside of FedEx before the game. The Cowboys fans outnumbered the Commanders fans by a mile! It was right there in the 'skins backyard too.

Allen Iverson is from Virginia and he was reportedly at Texas Stadium wearing a Witten jersey a few years back. The game was against his "home" team the 'skins, but he wore a Dallas jersey. It looks like all of Virginia has got the Cowboy bug.

There's a pretty large Cowboys contingency in Detroit/Canada too. Imagine a Cowboys training camp in Canada...Naw, never mind.

It does happen to my home town but is also perfect for training. World class athletes come to Albuquerque New Mexico to train because of the altitude, which is higher then denver, and the heat waves that we can get. It is not the largest city but lately the population has grown tremendously. Play in the heat and at altitude. Sounds like a perfect place to me.

Austin TX.

They used to have it there and win Super Bowls. Its a great city. Its cosmopolitan without the ghetto has the best live music in the South and probably the friendliest albeit weird people in Texas.

Hawaii, it never gets hot even when the sun is shining brightly, there would be nice breeze all day

plus the players could all hit the beach at Waikiki (SP, sorry, have't been there in awhile)

The Alamodome, perfect weather all the time, in the heart of Cowboys country and about 20 minutes from my home.

End of discussion!
