What is the best thing about where you live?

What is the worst thing about where you live?

Mine.

Best...Outstanding Mexican food places all over the city.

Worst...Current unemployment situation is dire and getting worse.

Good: It's New York City, one of if not the greatest city in the world.

Bad: To say it's expensive to live here is a major understatement. My sisters home in Fort Worth is twice the size of mine, yet my house cost between x4 and x5 more.

Best: I live here. Well, that is what is best for everyone else. For me, it is the variety. I can enjoy the outdoors most of the time. There is a great night life environment with lots of good live music. Great food. Lots and lots of beautiful and successful women.

Worst: The heat in late July and August is close to unbearable and takes away from enjoying the outdoors.

Best: Good place to raise a family.

Worst: Fast food capital of the world. More fast food restaurants per person than anywhere.

Best: Relatively low cost of living and good schools.

Worst: The damn wind. This is the windiest place you will ever see.

Panama City Beach:

Best: low mortgage rates, you can purchase a brand new home down here (2,200 sq. ft., 3 BR, hardwood, tile, viking and subzero appliances) for less than 200K. The same home built 5 years ago down here was listed for 800+. It'll take some time to rebound, but if this oil spill fix works, and the economy follows suit, the investment could yield big bucks in the next 5-6 years.

Worst: It's hot as hell. It's humid as hell. I'm a firefighter....and I can't stand the heat.

Best: Location, Location, Location! Only 5 miles from the beautiful Jersey Shore. Only 1 hr train ride to NYC.

Worst: Tailgaters! I can't believe any state has worse tailgaters.

Was that you draggin' *** in the left lane?? Move it chump! :laugh2:

I live in Jersey too.

Best: Great town, quiet (I live on a golf course so it's not a traffic area); great school system; far enough from the malls and supermarkets to not have it touch us, but close enough so that it's not a commute to get to it.

Worst: Far from the creative jobs in Northern Jersey. My commute is 120 miles a day and there is no sign that I can get something for the same money in Central to Southern Jersey any time soon.

Highs: major sports teams here and in Baltimore; city is soaked in history; great public transportation system; nice variety of ethnic restaurants; no shortage of things to do.

Lows: expensive place to live; brutally hot summers; Bob is a mere 30 minutes away.

Vancouver, WA (right next to Portland, OR)

Good: The area is walk/bike friendly. Broad sidewalks, lots of bike lanes and great public transportation.

Bad: Local gov't sucks. Too many hippie programs and not enough money to feed them = schools get the shaft. They were actually considering getting rid of P.E. because they cannot afford it.

Best: The Weather

Worst: Housing Prices, and no one seems to know how to make decent buffalo wings, and if they do they cost way too much for way too little.

Tempe, AZ :

Best: I am a huge golfer and can do this year round even though it gets to 120* sometimes. One other thing that it is the easiest big city that I have ever driven in. Everything is set up North/East/South/West.

Worst: I grew up in North Dakota and love to hunt/fish/snowmobile/snowboard/camp and you have to drive quite a ways away to go do this =(

Worst: Drunk driving apparently is a favorite past-time here. And the summers are too hot for me.

Best: Most of the people are very friendly, laid back and get along well (when they're not driving drunk). The other three seasons of the year are great here. Good Mexican food.
