Best: Every major sport is represented here. Lots of good musical acts come through here. Lots of great places to eat.

Worst: It's so damn hot and humid. I'd give up all the "Best" parts for actual seasons.

yeah all my friends have a blast when they visit, but living here sucks. there are no career opportunities other than maybe city work, very limited on restaurant choices(even more so on good ones), every fall/spring semester i almost get hit head on 5 times cause idiots cant read one way signs, and many many more but i could go on forever, lets just say i cant wait to get out of here

Hate to break it to you, but the idiots are already there. I was on campus today and my F-150 almost got a brand new black C-240 for a front bumper because Buffy can't read directions.

I got a one finger salute sent my way right in front of JCK. I pointed her toward the guy walking out of the entry station booth and he 'corrected' her on her driving. I waved at her as she had to turn around in the street and I swear the look on her face said that she wanted to crawl in a hole from sheer embarrassment.

The wildlife on campus though, dayuuuuuuuum. That hasn't changed.

San Antonio Texas.

Best: 2.5 hours from the coast, fine *** latina ladies that make Maxum models look like a burnt roast, and the home of Tex-Mex.

Worst: 2.5 hours from the coast, and the heat. Fire ants come in a close third.

best:
the variety of weather - proper seasons. amazing selection of restaurants, chinese, thai, japanese, indian, (literally hundreds of) italian, greek, turkish, mexican and mongolian bbq are some that i've tried and been really impressed with in the last couple of years. all the benefits of living in a major city but only an hour or so from the fishing, mountains or the beach and a little further for skiing. the airport flies to most european destinations and also to dubai or an hour flight gets you to heathrow where you can fly anywhere on the planet. glasgow has great pubs, nightlife and the most vibrant music scene in scotland. celtic park is here, also we have the national stadium so most international games.

worst:
the weather - you can have all 4 seasons in the one day, i've seen me leave the house with a rain coat etc and the rain bouncing off the street and within a couple of hours people are lying in the park sunbathing. also 2 weeks of solid rain in whats meant to be the middle of summer is never a good thing. neds, junkies and beggars in the streets (usualy one and the same)

Glasgow was nice when I was there but I probably preferred Edinburgh. My hotel in Glasgow was really nice though, we stayed at the Hilton near the highway. It was cold though, about 17C after London had been 33C.

oh so did I, but with a sweatshirt, it was refreshing after our London visit.

Weird part was all the stores being closed on a Friday night. We went for a walk figuring like here where stores are all open late they would there but nope, just Borders books. The next day though my mom had a good cry on the main pedestrian mall as she heard the pipes playing, My grandparents were from Glasgow and Paisley so she felt a connection there. We took the train to Paisley too, nice little town.

Really loved our Highlands tour too.

Lakewood/Dallas

Pros:
All of the Major (and minor) sports teams...few cities have more.
Can walk a few blocks to about 20 authentic restaurants/coffee shops.
Can walk or bike to a lake for biking/jogging/etc.
Top notch business and economy vs most of country.
No state income tax.
No commute traffic from Lakewood--a 5 minute drive to downtown work (not on a freeway) or can take a bus or rail.
Great homes (new to 110 years old) and affordable prices compared to other major cities.
Huge trees everywhere and nice parks for the kids.
Golf or biking 12 mos a year if you're into that.
Preposterously hot and attainable women in Big D...but now I'm married now, so scratch that.
Very easy and cheap flights to some of the owrlds best beaches and mountains.

Negs:
Any great beaches or ski mountains are best reached by air....so Cali it ain't.
August and July heat is pretty bad...this year has even been humid (which is not always the case) 60% is high normally
If you do venture to the suburbs--they are sprawling and sometimes fairly treeless and have a horrible commute. (But I don't live there)
Dallas public schools are mostly bad, although Lakewood Elementary is ok.
Property taxes are fairly high percentage wise.

I was bored and long-winded :)
