Last week we had a bunch of chicken littles saying the season is over. yada yada, there was a ton of threads complaining and whining about bp and everything under the sun. so what do you guys think now? BP coached an amazing game, the D was great, offense was aggressive and great, we did everything well.

I had this team getting it handed to them. I was one who thought the Eags would win by two TDs. I'll be happy to eat crow today.

The coaching staff had an outstanding week. They did what I thought they should have been doing the prior two weeks. But that's ok. It's the NFL. I understand there will be weeks like this. And there will be more like last week in Oakland. But that's how it is for just about everyone.

That said, I like where this team sits - for this season and long term.

I'm sure I'll get slammed for this but, here goes.

Last week, I posted something to the effect of this team playing up and down. They will get up for big games and probably play well in many. They will also lose to teams that they shouldn't. This is a young team and I still believe that this will happen this year. I like what I see and I am absolutly thrilled over the win vs the Eagles but lets keep it in focus here. We are a very young team. We still have some tough games ahead of us, IMO. Games that we are simply not going to have the kind of focus you need in order to win. The difference between a talented young player and a Pro is the ability for the Pro to play like a Pro even when the game is not big.

I believe we still have a long way to go but I'm very happy with how far we've come.

I'm still crying over the buttwhupping we gave the Eagles yesterday. It was so beautiful, it had me in tears... :p:

Edit: Good post ABQ. I agree wholeheartedly.

I too thought we'd lose this game, but I don't think anyone in here was saying our season was over after last week.

Any doom and gloom predictions were qualified by, "if we continue to play conservative" or "play not to lose."

We know the talent is there, the coaches finally figured out that we have to let the talent out of the stable, which is what happened when the players finally got to dictate on the field, instead of reacting and responding.

Hopefully, this will carry over to next week, because I see a tougher game coming from the Giant than the Eagles. Can we continue to pressure Eli and shut down Plax and Shockey and their running game?

One game does not a season make. A Glenn said it best, "the great teams do this every week. We did it one game."

Looking forward to a great game next week.

See, there's nothing wrong with being wrong. The problem comes when people don't own up. The thing about the NFL, is we have no clue. I do get a chuckle when people 'round these parts let you know just how right they are. Never wrong.

It just gets old seeing Cowboy fans turn tail on the Cowboys and then come back and say Oh well I'll eat crow and it taste good. Some just show no faith at all for this team.

Or worse yet after a close loss start a "Parcells sucks" or Fire Zimmer post.

Imagine what abuse Bledsoe will get after a bad game?

lol

I think most of us knew we had this type of game, saw spurts of it in earlier games. I think the Eagles came in way overconfident, with McNabb too stubborn to rest his injury, and their defense not being as good as the national media making them out to be. If we had beaten Oakland, I don't know if Parcell's could have gotten everyone fired up to play with this type of passion. We lost, so everyone wanted to come back and prove to themselves and to their coach that they were better than that. And the players sure did. It's amazing what dedication and focus can do. The teams that know how and play mistake free football usually win. I am just glad our team is getting some chemistry on O and D. Young guys are gaining reps and confidence. I don't know what to expect against the Giants, but at least we are at home and they don't have to travel.

ya same here. just wanted to get rid of that sky is falling attitude on the board. this win is huge for morale and the rest of the season like I thought it would be. big momentum to win the next 3 games are very winnable, and we should win them all. 6-2 yes please!

There is a difference in saying "I think Dallas loses this game" and not showing faith. That has nothing to do with not having faith in this team. I thought Dallas would absolutely plaster the Commanders. Wrong. I also thought they would lay the wood to the Niners. Wrong again.

All I do is try to call 'em as I see 'em.

You make a good point but you shouldn't be surprised. The Cowboys have the biggest fan base in the league and and a good portion of them are sunshine fans. I even have them as friends and family. They just don't know how to be a real Cowboys fan. ;)

Good post and I agree the key words for Cowboy fans to remember this year is we have a team learning to play together. Not only is this a young team it is also a team which has had to go get veteran leadership through free agency.

There are 21 players including 10 rookies on the 53 man roster who didn't play here last year. This roster has a lot of talent but for the most part they have never played together, There will be more inconsistency this year because one of the keys to being a good NFL team is learning to play as a team.

That process isn't over for this team but fans need to understand it doesn't happen overnight. Anyone who expects perfect football immediately is unrealistic, That only comes from playing together and this team has played 5 games together. Yesterday they showed what they are capable of but the fact is there will be more inconsistency this year and fans should understand that.

I don't ask anyone to follow blindly but what gets me is the over the top comments about firing guys or slamming players after 4 weeks of a season. Players and teams can improve as the season goes on but some act as if the sky is falling because we go out and have a bad game. I hate to say it but the truth is we will have bad days and we will have some good ones, at the end of 16 games we will see exactly where we are

I'm right here eating crow with a pepper corn sauce, with a side of rice pilaf and tortillas.

We had every right to be cry babies last week. Had we played last weeks game like we did this one, attacking from the get go, we probably could have one more win in the W column.

What I did say after last week's game was that we should start playing to win instead of playing not to lose. I also said I thought we should be less predicatable in the running game, and run to the right some more.

Maybe BP does read the board because the offense was attacking from the get go and the running game had big success running to the right.

BTW, what wine goes well with Crow?
