I just don't see it. We housed them in their own building and barely lost with a backup quarterback when they were in full on hitting their stride and our defense was terrible. Don't know why everyone is all over the Eagles.

The love they've been getting this offseason has been absolutely gross (especially in my neck of the woods, right in PA). I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but any reasonable person should expect them to drop off a bit in year 2 under Chip. Number 1, all gimmicky type offenses like theirs fall off a bit after DC's have a full offseason to really digest. Number 2, anyone who thinks Nick "Napolean Dynamite" Foles is going to play out of his mind in 2014 like he did in 2013 is high. Nick will be falling back to earth very soon. And finally, people are waaaay underestimating how much Desean Jackson's absence is going to hurt them. Not only do they have a boatload of production to somehow replace, they have lost their sure fire way to stretch the field. He opened things up for other areas of the offense by just being lined up out there. That factor is gone. They're counting on Riley Cooper and a guy coming off of a serious knee injury who didn't play a single down last year. Please.

I don't think the Eagles will be all that this year.

Defense. These days the rules favor the offense so much more it's great to watch a talented defense dominate. I guess this is probably the reason I'm so down in the cowboys FO.

Defense.

And it's sad because we haven't had a good defense since the 90's.

I will always prefer Offense. Especially a power running game that just grinds the other team down. One of the things I always admired about Emmitt Smith is that in the 4th quarter when the other team was too tired, he just seemed to get better. I like seeing a Guard pull and flatten a Linebacker or a Safety. I like seeing a lead bock spring a back for a nice big gain. I like to see that clock ticking, the Defense exhausted and the Offense rolling. I like seeing the chains move. I like drives that take up 10 or more plays. I like seeing that hard yard moment near the goal line and a Cowboys RB in the endzone after trucking someone. For me, that is football and it gets my heart pounding, blood pumping, and my adrenaline raging. I like to see my team scoring, and while a Defensive score is probably more thrilling than any kind, they are rare. Points win games. Offenses score points. I prefer the Offense.

Offense. Seeing "Power-O" and "Twins Rt-Scat Rt-839-F Flat" run to perfection is a thing of beauty. It's what gets my blood pumping.

both, I played both, I love shutdown DBs and great QB play, love RBs and great WRs play. defense does not win championships, somone please tell when a defense has ever scored enough points to win a championship? defense does their part if they are good, but the offense scores the points needed to win the game

Offense. I like the aggression , the nastiness of a power running game, a touchdown pass to break the other team's will.

I can appreciate superior play-making on either side of the ball and on special teams. I'm hoping like Hades that Dallas will have a standout year running the ball on offense ('cuz I'm pretty sure they can sling it with more than a modicum of efficiency), kill it on special teams/kicking game, and hold their own just enough on defense that they don't bury those other two facets of the game. This should be a tough year for fans with an over under of 8-and-8 (and I think I'm being optimistic).

Because you have always been old school. I admit I love the lead draw. Moving the middle linebacker and allowing the running back to get to the second level. Then its who has the best angle.

But you have to admit Hos, the play action with the slot receiver or tight end up the hash mark for a fifteen plus yard play.

But I like the running game myself.

As a Cowboy fan, Offense. Our defense is really bad right now plus I love watching Romo and Dez do the amazing things they do.

As a football fan, Defense. The rules favor the offenses but I love when a defense can impact the game. What Seattle did last year and Baltimore a few years back is much more satisfying.

I'm definitely a lover of a prolific offense, but I'm also an "old schooler" ( okay...I'm just old). I still believe in the old adage that defense wins championships. Give me a d.

Give me a good defense. Defense wins championships. See Seattle as an example.

Only up to a certain extent. The 2003 Cowboys had the NFL's No. 1-ranked defense but didn't even win a playoff game.

I'm an Offense guy bc I hate the feeling of helplessness "game to game" resulting from a great D and a weak O. It can be great to watch @ times (SEA/BAL examples), but overall I feel the team is entering the game with a consistent handicap that takes more "chance = TOs" coupled with amazingly efficient defense to pull out victories. That is why great D's aren't perennial SB contenders.

For every Seattle from last season, you have a "Greatest Show on Turf"....both are entertaining to watch from a pure football perspective...but to me, I will take the dynamic offense along with a poor defense over a stellar defense with no offense any day....the Baltimore teams that are being referenced were amongst the most boring to watch....so, unless you are a SB contender, then give me a 30 points/game offense that can take over a game

I don't think the Eagles will be all that this year.

Nick Foles has ever excited me, and he didn't last year either. The majority of his throws were underneath catch-and-run throws that allowed players to make catches in good positions to make the first guy miss. A great offensive design, but very similar to the Commanders their first year.

Like you said, once there's enough film out there to digest their tendencies, coordinators will adjust and they'll exploit Foles' weaknesses. I expect the Eagles to take a step back this year, particularly without Jackson as you said. Even if he wasn't catching tons of TDs, his speed threat to stretch the field was enough to have to compensate for on defense, which opened things up underneath. They will not have that this year.

I always go by the old cliche'
Offense sells, Defense wins

But I still lean toward the Offense.
