Which Draft pick is the most likely to get cut?

I hope all of them make it, but not sure how realistic that is, so if you had to cut one, who would it be?

Marion Barber
Chris Canty
Justin Beriault
Rob Petitti
Jay Ratliff
I think they all have a good chance, but Ratliff is the guy I'd cut if I had to choose 1...I think he'd clear waivers and go PS....he barely missed being an undrafted FA anyway.

Absolutely no way we cut MB3.

Cutting Ratliff would be a mistake. You can never have enough good d-lineman.

SOme people need to get over this business about where someone is drafted, or not. In camp you are looking for players. Rogers was a high pick- so what? We have had a bunch of high picks that stank up the place. Ratlif looks like he could start for us. MB3 so far has not. Simple as that.

If we do cut Ratliff, I hope he clears and makes it to our PS. From what I've read about him, he seems to have a good work ethic and gives his best, etc..

I am betting that not only does MBIII make the team, but that he gets the most carries of any back not named Julius Jones.

Ratliff is 4th string NT and 3rd string DE, he has shown well but starting, not hardly.

Barber was drafted to be a change up/3rd down back and has done nothing in camp or the first preseason game to jeopardize that role.

Thomas has shown nothing from the reports I've seen or his play against AZ.

Parcells will pick the guys with the most talent, upside and versatility and so far Thompson and Barber are those guys.

I hope they all make it, but...if it comes down to "if" we do have to cut someone, I have a feeling it might be Ratliff just because we seem to have more healthy DL than OL right now.

MB3 makes the team over A-Train. I dont see how that is even a question or arguement. The ticket was talking like they may keep 4 rb's!

Keep the A-Train, he is better then people are giving credit and he needs someone that can go inside and out coming off the bench. Carry 4 HB's and one FB if you have to since JJ may go down...

To the original question, all make it but if one had to go it is probably Ratliff....

No way Marion Barber gets cut, hes Pcrcells guy and he has looked fine in camp, and in pre-season he was blocking well and he ran well, but his runs got called back. He showed hes a solid all around back.

I think they all make it, it was a hell of a draft. We got value at every pick, basically none of the ugys we drafted were suposed to be there

Marion Barber
Chris Canty
Justin Beriault

all of them will make it...Beriault might end up on IR depending on how his knee comes around...

David

The only there is even a Question about is Berault and that's because of the injury. No way Ratliff gets cut, because Bill knows that someone will pick him up before he makes our practice squad, Ratliff ability to play both NT and DE helps. johnson seems more like PS Material, but he might make it also based on Carson's knee. :suxiggle: :trophy: :disseags: :iggles:

Ratliff is the most likely to be cut based on a glut at the position, but I don't see them letting go a guy that can play, regardless of the glut.

I don't think any get cut this year but several from last year might - Rogers and Bruce Thornton.

Rat, we have 51 roster spots for offense and defense and we have depth and concerns at several positions.

Keeping 5 backs will not be an option on this team with the changes on defense and protecting the QB as a must.

It will likely come down to which big back can do more on offense and special teams Polite or Thomas. We will either keep 4 RBs or 3 RBs and a FB.

So far A-Train has done the least and because of experience has the most trade value.

A-train isn't going anywhere. If you pay attention, parcells doesn't play the guys he knows can do things. That is why you haven't seen or heard anything about Thomas. Parcells knows that is his number 2 guy, he is giving these young guys a chance to show and prove. Thomas is a proven 1000 yard back. Thompson and Barber have yet to prove anything. It is ludicis to compare Thomas to George. You will see Thomas on the goal line alot. Furthermore, because parcells wants to see some of the younger guys perform why do you think he is keeping Fergie and Rivera out? He knows what they can do, if this was the regular season they would be playing. We keep 4 RB's and maybe on FB.

We have played one preseason game.

Fergy has a bum ankle, Rivera is coming off of back surgery and has a tight hammy, so comparing their situations to Thomas is silly.

Thomas was so proven that his old team brought in Jones, than drafted a RB and released him. We picked him up as insurance not as a sure thing.

You want to compare him to someone compare him to Reese, because that is the situation that fits.

I'm betting it will be Thompson, when it is all said and done.

Well other than tha fact that Thomas is a MUCH better player than Reese, I would agree with you. Besides check the depth chart. Thomas is #2
