I really wish they would just go for it this year. If you look down the road to 2022, they basically only have 4 OL, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1DE, 1 LB, and likely 1 QB signed to massive deals. Of course they will have the draft picks still on rookie deals but the future of this roster is very bleak due to all the bloated salaries to slightly above average players who don’t produce to their pay grade.
Yea, I say go for it - Tyron, Martin, FredBeard aren’t getting any younger. Zeke is racking up miles, Defense is losing players. Put all the chips in and go all-in!

Griffen Tough to find a guy in draft to match his skill set especially as a rookie - major need DE 10 mill
Snacks he would solidify our line with Griffin 6 to 7 mill
Ryan Need a vet CB 7 to 8 mill
Perriman tough vet receiver 1 yr deal 4 mill
Took my best guess at cost Im sure Im off but cant be by much. We have the money to pull the trigger on these players if we chose but sets us up with a solid team all around with good coaching
Draft BPA I would go CB, S, DT, WR and best rest of way. Corner to either step in now or be their next year if we lose Chido or Lewis

Get Dak signed long term and if need be pull a few of those cap triggers. We would be solid across the board, that D line would be very tough and make our LBers be able to fly around the field. Plus we would have good depth.

Sign a DE, DT, CB, S. However my bet is they all still want top money at this point. So doubt we see any movement until the price comes down.

Remember there are 31 other teams out there they have not signed with either. So it is not this FO fault, try. Need to see what they sign for with any other team to know if they missed out or not. All depends on any offers also. Maybe one team offers a 1 years deal and another team offers a 2 or 3 year deal. The the players needs to decide, bet on himself for a year, go for a bigger payday the next year, or take the longer term deal with a place to play for a bit longer.

I’d sign Griffen ASAP. However, the best DT available right now might be Kinlaw, the best CB available right now might be CJ Henderson, and the best safety right now might be McKinney. The Cowboys are almost guaranteed to get one of those guys in the draft - but yea they need to make some moves to fill these holes.

Snacks was cut, so he doesn't affect comp picks. Sign him up!

Ryan and Griffen were not cut, so signing them eliminates high comp picks.
I don’t think it would eliminate a high comp pick - I think it would cancel out the 5th round comp pick we’d get for Cobb because Ryan or Griffen would probably command a $10mil/year deal

There are still some former pro-bowlers and very talented players sitting out there on the open market, and the next 72 hours could be crucial for the Cowboys to improve this team. I’m a firm believer that our offense is pretty set (we need a slot WR but one can be found in this deep WR draft), so all resources should be allocated to improve the defense and there are a lot of holes to fill on that side of the ball. Defensive line should be the main target because it’s extremely hard to draft a young guy and plug him in right away on the DLine and for him to be successful. Here are some players that should be considered (in no particular order):

1.) Jadeveon Clowney

I’m not nearly as high on Clowney as most people might be, he’ll command a very high price tag and he has a problem playing all 16 games & his production was way down last year but he’s a better all-around DE than Quinn could ever dream of being.

Clowney hasn't fully lived up to the hype of being the No. 1 overall pick, but he's been productive. He has 32 sacks in six NFL seasons with 80 quarterback hits, 252 pressures and three Pro Bowl appearances. He has also graded out exceptionally well via Pro Football Focus, specifically over the past two seasons. Clowney finished with 31 tackles, three sacks, four forced fumbles, 13 quarterback hits and 47 pressures in 13 games in 2019.

His contract demands are probably way too high for the Boys, and I don’t know that his production meets his financial demands.

2.) Logan Ryan

Ryan would be an excellent value signing for any team that wants to add him to their secondary. He finished with 113 tackles, 18 passes defensed, four interceptions and four forced fumbles in all 16 games.

Opposing quarterbacks threw for five touchdowns and had an 88.7 passer rating targeting Ryan. Sure Ryan is coming off a down year, but he is just 29 and a reliable starter for any team that needs a cornerback.

3.) Everson Griffen

This guy is super high on my personal list. He is extremely solid against the run and has the ability to get to the QB. He would be another huge upgrade over Quinn who is terrible vs. the run and would make this defense better by taking some pressure off the linebackers and allowing them to flow to the ball like they did in 2018. Quinn put far too much pressure on the LBs because he’s flat out terrible and had a mission to simply rack up sacks and get a big contract.

4.) Jimmy Smith

While Smith turns 32 this offseason, there's no denying his talent. The former first-round pick has spent all nine NFL seasons with the Ravens, and has been a key cog in Baltimore's secondary for quite some time. His injury history needs to be taken in consideration, however, as he hasn't played in all 16 games since the 2015 season. In 2019, he recorded 30 combined tackles, one sack, six passes defensed and one interception in nine games played.

If you're looking for a veteran who can still add something special to the secondary, Smith is your guy

5.) Shelby Harris

Harris finally earned an opportunity to start in Denver last season, and made the most of it. Playing all 16 games, Harris finished with 49 tackles, six sacks and nine passes defensed while rotating on the edge and at nose tackle.

Harris only played 60% of the Broncosdefensive snaps, but he provides much-needed versatility to any defensive line. Harris may cost more than expected for a player that is inconsistent at times, but his upside may be worth the investment.

6.) Markus Golden
7.) Michael Bennett
8.) Suh
9.) Cameron Wake
10.) Derek Wolfe
11.) Snacks
CAMERON WAKE, SNACKS AND WOLFE. Wake on a 1 year deal and pass rush specialist would be fine. I know he's 38, but he's still productive.Snacks is the beefy run stuffer we lack. Wolfe is just a tackling machine with a high motor...effectively, our poor mans chad hennings.

DT Shelby Harris has had 3 straight seasons of a PFF grade of at least 75 and is solid in both run defense and pass rush. He's only 28 too and the predicted salary is only 4-5 million a year

Cut Crawford and pair Harris with Everson Griffin and you got a damn good defensive line. Would free up the draft for secondary + WR #3

We were fortunate Stephen opened up his purse for McCoy. It's bargain bin shopping from here on out.
