I am a lifelong Cowboys fan and fan of the NFL. I still prefer it to college football, but in recent years I am becoming more and more a college fan. Which do you prefer as a whole and why?

I like the pros much better. the college game is more about speed and schools who recruit the most talent.

I prefer the NFL. I don't like college as much because 1 my team sucks and 2 the BCS is BS. Unless you are in a BCS conference you can't win the championship.

If you are there in person college is more fun but IMO the NFL game is better.

I love the NFL and have been a Cowboys" fan for more that 35 years. But I must say college ball is more exciting. The fan base in college is unreal. Also, the NFL is taking to much out of the game that made it what it is today. Next thing you no it's going to be touch football with no fun. No celebration, no trash talking, no emotion; it's taking away from what we once knew as the NFL.

And I must add that the BCS is taking away from the college game. Hoping the go to a playoff format in the near future.

I'm also a big fan of both but I would say I like the NFL more. However, I do like how teams run the spread in college. My H.S. team runs the spread. My favorite college teams run the spread. I just wish some teams in the NFL would. :laugh2:

It may the version of the spread Memphis runs but I hate it. I can't stand how they get in to formation then look at the coaches then get in to formation then look at the coaches again.....just call the play and snap the damn ball already. :laugh2:

:laugh2: Thats one of the things I don't like either. I hated the spread when my H.S. first installed it but its grew on me and I LOVE to watch it now.

I'm a much bigger fan of the NFL game because it's the best players in the world. I like NCAA football but it just doesn't compare to the NFL for me.

I like the pageantry and tradition of college football, the rivalries, the marching bands & cheerleaders -- the pros are way too businesslike in comparison.

A UT game at Memorial Stadium in Austin was an experience to remember, whereas a Cowboy game at Texas Stadium during the 80s was like attending a funeral service. The season ticket holders would never jump up and scream like a college fan!

Maybe it'll be different in the new stadium, but I doubt it.

I like the NFL more as well. Defense is horrible at the college level as well is the tackling.

I enjoy both but I prefer the NFL. There is much less talent disparity game to game making for much more even matchups. Every pro team is ultratalented, not so in the college ranks. Overall quality is better.

Ask me the same question NBA vs NCAA Hoops and you will get a different answer.

I used to enjoy college football much more than I do now although never as much as I did the NFL.

The importance of the bowl games has changed too much with the BCS making all other bowl games essentially meaningless. I grew up in L.A. and loved the rivalry between UCLA and USC as well as with USC/Notre Dame, anyone with Stanford, etc. The Rose Bowl was a HUGE game back then with the top Pac-10 team playing the top Big-10 team but now it is kind of a side note.

I also like to follow players for more than a couple of years. The great Cowboys players played here for 10-15 years, not 2-3 like in college. Also, college football is more about the coach than the players since he stays and they move on but even then most college coaches move around a lot these days (except for Joe Paterno of course).

Lastly, since I moved to NC in 1992 I don't get to see UCLA or USC play very much and I hate the ACC teams so I've really lost interest in it.

I only just got into college footbal 2 years ago. I am starting to love it. I didn't like it so much years ago because of that stupid wishbone offense. I hated watching it. Plus way more fumbles. Now college seems much closer to the pro game. Hey it is football and I love the sport. Still, nothing is like the Pros. Though a tight college game is great to watch.

I love them both. I love the history, rivalries, stories, etc... pretty much everything associated with college football. But I say that when my college is enjoying a period of success. However as much as I love college football I love NFL even more. The NFL is just so huge right now. I agree with the playoff system, every week is drama-filled. You couldn't ask for more entertainment than what happens between August and February.

I like college football, but I love pro. The college game is flawed with no playoff system (Division 1-A anyway). The BCS is a crock.

If given an opportunity to watch the Cowboys or my alma mater (Hawaii) play, it's Dallas all the way.

For me, the NFL > College football, except when it comes to the Texas/OU game :)
