We are on page 2 and people are so disgusted with the thought that they won’t mention the player who I believe is likely a main target…Avila. We have definitely shown heavy interest and I think his position flex would make Dallas drool…it just makes sense with the way the Cowboy’s think. Most people don’t appreciate how much NFL teams value flexibility. We need 1 guard now, have another nearing the end of a great career, and a center who will be a FA next year. The only line position Avila hasn’t played is LT. Whether we think he is worth it or not, if I were betting today, outside of someone falling I’m betting Avila at 26 or maybe a small trade down.

And for people who say he will be there at 58, he may be based on internet boards and TV talking heads. But if the Cowboys want him, they are not going to risk it unless they are really confident.

He would be in play if another Edge goes ahead of him. Still several are going to go much higher then we expect, including McDonald.
I agree,it woudlnt surpise me to see both Forbes and Mcdonald go ahead of 26,it may push a TE to us though.

Think it's going to go down to

Flowers
Hayatt
Wright

Unless Bijan is there, if he's there I think that's the pick easily.

2nd post in the thread I mentioned Avila

I do believe the team will have 1st rd grades on both Mayer and Kincaid. If one does fall to 26, it would be in their decision. The other thing that nobody has discussed, what happens if a Washington, Mustrgrave, LaPorta or Kraft is there at 58?
I’d be shocked if 2+ of those guys aren’t available at 58.

Heck I wouldn’t be surprised if 1 of Laporta, Kraft or Schoonmaker isn’t there with our 3rd round pick.

Is this much different from Smith and Cine last year ? 2 guys we had ranked in the top 20 on our board. I personally wouldn’t take Avila in round 1, but they may think really highly of him. This team drafts players in the 1st round with the intention of playing them. We may not like it, but I won’t argue with their recent success. We may look back and compare the career of Avila versus guys like Mayer, Forbes, Flowers, and Mcdonald.

What's the hype of Kincaid, Musgrave and his 4oo yrds in 4 yrs of college? I'm wondering if any of you have actually watched Kincaid and Musgrave play, or just watched highlights. Musgrave you can fit hishighlights in 10 seconds.

1. Kincaid already has a bad back.
2. Musgrave has done literally nothing in college.

Only TE who should be around 1 target is Mayer. But is he so much better than Ferguson and Hendershot? No, and I'd go with both of them over Kincaid all day. I'd rather have Kraft or Pitts or even Kuntz.

You may not like Kincaid but plenty of us do. As does most in the scouting community. He’s every bit worthy of being our pick if we decided to go in that direction.

What do you like about him? Without 2 games vs USC his stats are pretty bad. I've watched him atleast 8 times the past 2 yrs. If he's there at 58 yes. 26 hell no.

Anytime Quinn works out a Edge we need to take notice, he also worked out Van Ness, but nobody mention him.
Ness was not a 30 visit. He might be the Tyler of this draft. The thing is Ness is a consensus top 20 prospect.

Washington was a 30 visit, but didn't meet with them at the combine. I know they met with Kincaid/Mustgrave at the combine and Mayer said he has talked with the Cowboys. Maybe Mayer is the one they are hiding interest. Clearly they are hunting TE's and the top ones.
Washington was worked out by our tight ends coach at the combine. Patrick Walker, Talkin Cowboys says the tight end coach lit up with happiness discussing Washington.

How the hell are his stats bad ? You take away the monster USC game and he still had over 600 yards receiving. He also missed a game and played that last game against USC with a fracture. I see an athletic pass catcher with terrific hands that can win at all levels. Smooth route runner that also knows where to find openings in the defense. Beast with the ball in his hands. A below average blocker. But the team that takes him will take him for his receiving skills. A 1st round prospect for sure.

Avilia probably should also be on the list, no combine interview, but they met with him at the Senior Bowl and was a 30 visitor.

I’m just pointing out that we have been linked to him (the title of the thread) and he was omitted. I don’t get to interview or work him out but I can see a really good case for his selection which I shared. I realize they plan to play their first rounders and that they don’t give two #*@%’s if we don’t like it, nor should they. If it turns out he checks the boxes, I like the pick (which again, they don’t care).

I have a sneaky suspicion that they are going to move up for Robinson.
Superstar jersey seller and highly marketable.
And the Cowboys have their best success with great RBs.
All I care about is Philly not ending up with either Robinson or Gibbs.

You wonder who are they hiding this time?

Maybe they the secrecy is only with regards to the consensus 1st round types.

If they have a visit with Michael Mayer, it's obvious that they're interested at #26.

If they have a visit with a player like Avila, I don't know if their interest is at #26 or for #58.

Are you kidding? If you watched him for 2 years and that’s your assessment might be time for a trip to the eye doctor.

Dude is comfortably the best pass catching TE in the draft.
