Now that the season is officially over, which position is the #1 priority that the Cowboys should target in the first round?

DB, safety or LB. This defense needs a lot of work.

we have alot of needs and we wont know until we see how Free agency plays out..

I voted Guard because I think DeCastro will be huge difference maker for the offense, but if he is gone already, I wouldn't mind getting one of the top cornerbacks on the board.

I said corner. Last time I checked, there aren't very many good corners entering free agency.

If you're going to find a good one, you have to get him in the draft.

We've already invested in the offensive line. The guys we have show promise. They'll just have to get stronger and benefit from a training camp.

14 is too high for a guard IMO, so I went DB. I would prefer a 340lb DT.

We need a couple of DBs so I voted for CB if there is a top guy available at #14. OG/C and Safety are the other primary needs IMO.

We need to swap Free and Smith, in fact we should have done it during the bye week.

I would still prefer to return to a 4-3 defense as I don't think we have the right size/speed for a 3-4 and would be a better fit for a 4-3. Go ahead and disagree all you want.

Spencer is NOT an OLB and Ware is wasted at the spot, he would make a much better DE in a 4-3. Dropping these guys in coverage is a mistake.

Oh, but that would entail Rob Ryan's departure. That's fine with me. I hope some stupid team hires him as their HC and saves me the trouble of yelling at Jerry for not replacing him.

I would do a center or DT. If best value is a DB that's fine too, but I want to get some anchors for our lines.

Ratliff was abused last night, and Costa is terrible.

Have to change w the times..its an offensive league, we have all the skill players we need to be successful. Time to get some big uglies..on top of that, of decastro is available, he will easily be the bpa, give me him.

I think we should continue with the same approach as last years draft. We had Patrick Peterson, Aldon Smith, and Tyron Smith as our top 3 players on the board. A solid group of players. Tyron Smith fell to us. If you look at all these players you can see we were targeting areas of need: CB, Pass Rusher, and OL. The Safety position was not as good as previous years. Jerry also targeted a certain free agent CB, that ended up in Philadelphia. It will be interesting to see who and what positions we covet, in the off season.

It's actually a deep cb free agent class. Finnegan, Porter, Carr, Thomas, Webb, Grimes all could be available. I say the best front seven player you can find especially an NT, OLB or DE.

Take your pick..... so many holes to fill. But it better be on the Offensive line, the defensive line, or the secondary.

:star:

Until we get someone to help Ware and rush the passer, I don't care how many CB's you draft or sign they can not cover with the time that we have let the Qb have, they can't cover all day,,

1rd. Pass Rusher is the first pick,
Ware needs someone that can play if we are going to stay in the awful 3-4 D, me I would go to a 4-3 see Giants D and pass rush for reasons
Ware - Lissmore - Rat - Draft

2nd. FS that can play, 4 year starter at position

3 rd. CB, a big one that can be and play physical,

4 rd. WR, depends on Robinson,
I would let Robinson walk, just like two other teams unless he takes a fair price contract, I would not over pay for his services, because he want first string money, not worth it,

5 rd. FS or another big CB, coverage skills again

6rd ILB

7rd TE we seem to pick good TE in the later rounds

that is my picks of the draft..

FA pickups,

OG only if Decastro is there. Otherwise, Kirkpatrick or Barron.

First preference is interior OL.

I go CB only if he is the unambiguous BPA.

I hope we trade down for value, there are so many needs. We need two guards, a center that can anchor the line. I do like Kowalski though...especially with an off season or two. We also need another DE for rotation. We need two good corners and a better free safety. It wouldn't hurt to bring in a full back to compete as well. Bottom line, even with FA and the draft next year, it will NOT be enough to make a full change.
